I bought this stand to accompany my avenger baby boom arm. It works great and the wheels are a luxury I can't live with out. I can work without a wheeled stand if I don't use the boom, but with a boom arm on and set up with a light and modifier a wheeled stand is needed.
The only drawback I can see is that even though it looks very solid and works great, I expected it to be solid while extended as well, but it wobbles a bit. That is the only reason it doesn't have a 5 star rating. However if I had to buy it again I would, it was just that I was expecting more "solidness" out of it

This is a well-made stand, however. I mounted an Avenger D600 Boom Arm (8lbs), and a Kino-Flo Diva light (14lbs), raised the stand up, and was concerned with the amount of wobbling I was seeing in the aluminum risers. I wish this stand was all-steel. Unfortunately the all-steel stands have much wider legs.
With the risers down, I have mounted 18.5lb Kino-Flo Tegra lights, and its very sturdy. I do not feel I need sand bags on the legs.

This lightstand is sturdy and well-built. The clamps tighten well and hold position.
However, the risers are aluminum. The unit is rated at 27lbs max load. I put an 8lb Avender D600 boom on it, and a Kino Flo Diva Lite (14lbs), and with one of the risers raised, it had a disconcerting amount of sway.
If I could find a version that was all-steel I would be more happy.

I am currently using this stand to support a HD monitor on a Matthews Vesa mount & I really like having the ability to look at the monitor at eye level. Being able to move the stand around my studio as well as to other locations is really nice.

nice stand, fit and finish are top notch, brakes could function a little easier, I find I have to use a lot of force to unlatch sometimes, but I own several, I wanted a new one for my client LCD stand and it fits the role perfectly, my others have shown the signs of time, but keep working, as always, my friends at B&H had the best price [...]

This light stand is extremely well made. Built in casters add to it's functionality. I use it to support the Avenger D600 Mini-Boom with a monobloc strobe and large softbox. Couldn't be happier with this unit.

I use this stand at weddings and on location shoots. While it is quite a bit heavier than what I was used to, the wheels roll easily over most surfaces (even some lawns!). Heavy duty, made to last, I don't forsee any issues with the build quality...

I brought this stand to go with my Photoflex 7 foot OctoDome and it did not disappoint. I put it through the paces and it performs flawlessly whether I extend the stand to its max height or angle it with the Photoflex Heavy Duty Grip Swivel which is a perfect combination for this set up. And I should mention that the head I have attached to it a 750 travelite that weights 8 pounds on its own. The stand didn't even require sand bags for extra stability though I might use some just form peace of mind.

Comments about Avenger A420 Wheeled Light Stand:
I purchased this stand AFTER I had purchased the Avenger AVA5012 along with the companion Avenger AVA2014 Double Riser which is needed if you need more height. This is a very good stand, and you will save a few dollars getting this model over the above package. However, it does not look or feel as solid as the 5012. It has a wider footprint which, if you have a small studio, you may find a disadvantage. To assemble the wheels, you will need two 10mm sockets and appropriate handles. Until the legs are spread as far as they can go, and tightened down, the wheels will appear to be spastic. You will be wondering if you have attached them correctly. You have. There is only one way.
Let me repeat, this is a good stand. I just much prefer the 5012. I would return it and get the other, if I wasn't so lazy. Packing everything back into its box and shipping it back, is just too much trouble.

I bought three of these a few months back, and I absolutely love them. They are very sturdy and durable, and the clamps are smooth to turn and hold like a champ! The rollers are just as exceptional. Every part of this stand is top-notch. In fact, these wheeled stands are so great that I am buying three more!

On location, In studio, this is the most versatile light stand I ever used.
Strong enough to be used with all my Profoto heads with large sized soft boxes and umbrellas. This is my 15th light stand I bought, and all of them are still going strong! Make sure you don't forget to also get sand bags when using it outside.
Nothing bad about it, price reflects quality!
