Does what it does well. Those ceiling struts can hold a lot of weight, but make sure to use this on the LONG sections, not the shorter cross pieces.

Comments about Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp:
These are a great bargain when compared to other prices for other brands on the internet. They are slightly large and feel sturdy. Only drawback is that they feel quite light which worries me to how much they can withstand but so far no problem.

Comments about Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp:
I use this clip along with the C1005 to mount my lights and control my cables in the ceilings of the clubs and locations where I often shoot.
Both install easily and quickly and leave no damage behind when removed.
So I keep getting more of them and sometimes leave them in the ceilings of locations where I return frequently as they are pretty low cost - and I don't love to spend more time on the ladder than necessary.
Good quality, well made, seem dependable.
They and the ceiling rails do flex however - so I would suggest that you not hang large modifiers - my shoot through umbrellas are fine but my medium octabox is a bit strained.
I use a safety cable I made for all lights - consider this.
I would like to be able to purchase an inexpensive extention something that would add 12 inches to them - or a replacement that would just screw in to get the lights more horizontal in some cases.

Comments about Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp:
This is your typical scissor clamp without a wire hanger attachment. The scissor mechanism screws off, so if you need an extra baby pin to mount a light in a CStand knuckle it will do the trick. I wish the notch was deeper for safety, but the design is typical, just use a safety line.

I have a small studio with a suspended ceiling. These clamps are easy to install and move around the room. My monolights attach securely to the standard pin and give so much more floor space with no light stands knock over. I will be buying a few more of these in the future.

Comments about Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp:
I needed 2 additional lights and did not want them on the ground on stands (due to space). I looked everywhere and asked every sales guy if there was a way to mount the lights from the ceiling. It seemed like a no brainer that there would be a way. I can't tell you how many sales people said there is no way to mount them. Finally I got a yes from this sales guy... he said sure you can... use "ceiling scissors". They are amazing and my studio doesn't look cluttered with a bunch of light boxes and stands. Additionally, I did not have the added expense of stands or light boxes. I ran the electrical through the drop ceiling back to the storage room. I will teather them for sure as I am a worry wart with little kids running around under the lights. It would be great if they came with a safety lock of some kind so they don't wiggle loose. Love B&H too!

Comments about Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp:
Strange little device, but it works, as long as you dont add too much weight. What they don't explain is that the arms expand out when you loosen the rod. Then, you tighten the rod & the arms expand in, clamping the ceiling rail.
This tiny little dingus is a live-saver when there's no other way to mount a speedlight, and a stand is out of the question.

Comments about Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp:
These work exactly as you'd expect -- they're perfect, except when the drop ceiling grid has flanges too thick for the clamp. I find this about 10% of the time.
