This is your typical scissor clamp without a wire hanger attachment. The scissor mechanism screws off, so if you need an extra baby pin to mount a light in a CStand knuckle it will do the trick. I wish the notch was deeper for safety, but the design is typical, just use a safety line.

I have a small studio with a suspended ceiling.These clamps are easy to install and move around the room. My monolights attach securely to the standard pin and give so much more floor space with no light stands knock over. I will be buying a few more of these in the future.

I needed 2 additional lights and did not want them on the ground on stands (due to space). I looked everywhere and asked every sales guy if there was a way to mount the lights from the ceiling. It seemed like a no brainer that there would be a way. I can't tell you how many sales people said there is no way to mount them. Finally I got a yes from this sales guy... he said sure you can... use "ceiling scissors". They are amazing and my studio doesn't look cluttered with a bunch of light boxes and stands. Additionally, I did not have the added expense of stands or light boxes. I ran the electrical through the drop ceiling back to the storage room. I will teather them for sure as I am a worry wart with little kids running around under the lights. It would be great if they came with a safety lock of some kind so they don't wiggle loose. Strange little device, but it works, as long as you dont add too much weight. What they don't explain is that the arms expand out when you loosen the rod. Then, you tighten the rod & the arms expand in, clamping the ceiling rail.

This tiny little dingus is a live-saver when there's no other way to mount a speedlight, and a stand is out of the question.

Clamps are tight and hold a speedlite very secure,just what I needed in my small studio.

These work exactly as you'd expect -- they're perfect, except when the drop ceiling grid has flanges too thick for the clamp. I find this about 10% of the time.
