Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Circular Reflector Disc - 32"
The Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector Disc is versatile in the field and in the studio, providing shadow-lightening detail in your subject, using available, or studio lighting. It starts out as a translucent white disc -- perfect for softening direct sun, or lights without diffusion. Use the removable, reversible zippered slipcover to reflect light into shadow areas of your subject. Your choice of color -- silver, gold, white, silver/gold mix -- will be determined by the lighting conditions, and your personal preference.
This 32" disc is suitable for 2-person portraits, and small still-life setups. It folds down to 1/3 its open size, and comes with a storage sleeve. We suggest the purchase of a pivoting arm and stand, to hold the disc where needed -- especially if you are working without an assistant.
- Soft Gold combines gold and silver, creating a warm, summery feel that works great with skin tones.
- Silver increases the specular highlights and yields a high-contrast image. Its perfect for video, product shots and B&W photography.
- Gold produces a natural, golden fill that is great for sunsets, jewelry, and indoor portraits.
- White produces an even, neutral-colored bounce light that works beautifully as a fill light source for both product shots and indoor/outdoor portraits.
- Translucent fabric is used to diffuse light, producing a broad light source and a soft, wraparound effect that's perfect for outdoor portraits or whenever a softer light is needed.

When I bought this item then also stuck with the problem of folding it to the case back but found the procedure on youtube. Just take the disk by both hands from opposite sides of perimeter and try to screw right side clockwise for 180 degrees together while trying to fold it as a newspaper. When it screws the metal ring inside the disk forms the third circle inside(between) 2 circles formed by the screw movement of left and right sides. So after that you just need to combine all 3 circles together in one plane. Thanks to the metal ring the disk finishes this operation itself. When you've done it twice your handes will remember the action steps to do. So don't worry for the folding. Very durable construction and good results on lighting surface. And the folding is a benefits of disk due to small size when folded. After first photo session I decided to apply only one monolight from one side of the object without filling light. It allows to achive very smooth tone gradient on the skin.

I was shooting a student film in natural light and needed silver and white reflectors for to provide some fill. As we had no budget I was looking for something portable, versatile and under $50. This certainly filled the bill. I also used it on a different shoot as diffusion for a 650 fresnel.
My only concern is it's durability. I have used other collapsible reflectors before and this one seems to be more flimsy with a plastic frame feel. The zipper on the cover feels fragile.
That said, if you're short on budget, this reflector will work nicely.

I use this reflector outside on my shoots for head shots etc. I find that the 5 in 1 reflector is so perfect for my needs, to get the fill in shadows on the face using it at the right angle plus more. The price is amazing which makes it a better deal. I recommend this to anyone getting started on body and head shots, but you will need an assistant to hold and angle it just right. 5 in 1 provides all the right ways to use the light that provides. As for for what I don't like, well I can't find one. Thanks and enjoy. Buy from B&H.

I have used the transluscent disc a number of times already and have only had it for a couple weeks. Works great for getting 'sun speckles' off my subject while doing shots where I want the soft light of the sun, but don't want the 'speckles' on my subjects face.

I love the flexibility and transportability. The effect of reflecting the light off the different colored covers is amazing. I much prefer creating these effects naturally, rather than through Photoshop. Being able to "fold" this into a manageable and portable size is also great. I am even able to slip it into my suitcase when I travel abroad.
