The Impact Collapsible Oval Reflector Disc (41 x 74") is a versatile lighting tool for in the field and in the studio. It allows you to bring out the shadow detail in your subject, using available or studio lighting. In addition, the colored surface allows you to modify the color of your subject. Your choice of color -- soft silver-gold or white -- will be determined by the lighting conditions, and your personal preference.
This oval 41 x 74" disc is suitable for a full length portrait, or a large size still-life setup. It folds down to 1/3 its open size, and comes with a storage sleeve. We suggest the purchase of a pivoting arm and stand, to hold the disc where needed -- especially if you are working without an assistant.

I desperately needed to light up faces while doing videos outside with sunlight coming from behind the subject. I recently did a low-budget film that was hampered by this problem. This reflector fixes that problem and it's wide enough to light up two or three people. Practice folding it in private so that you won't look like an idiot. Just put it in the corner of your work space and try to practice folding it once a day for a week. Fold it the same way each time (ex. Gold side to the inside) and you will find that the metal hoop develops a memory.

Maybe I just don't have the touch and maybe it's just because of the size of it (6 feet!) it's hard to fold. You really need to grip the frame tightly to get it to twist inside the fabric. Once you get it twisted it does the rest for you. Opening it is great because of how strong the frame is. It pops right open, but beware you aren't near any open beverages or small children because it definitely knock them over.
It gives off a very nice color value and is made of a strong fabric. I like it but I think I'll need a smaller one for working in more confined spaces and operating without an assistant. 6 feet just might be a little unwieldy at times.

I use this product for outdoor portraits. The sheer amount of light this bounces is wonderful. I have used to light full length portraits as well as groups of up to 5. It's difficult to fold the first time but easy enough once you know how.

Huge reflector that works well-- would be hard to hold in the wind, but reflects great. A bit hard to fold up again, but after a few tries you can get the hang of it.

This reflector is nice and big and folds down to a travelable size. It's not the easiest thing to fold up but once you figure out the technique it's doable.

This is a great reflector for outdoor use, especially full length portraits in harsh lighting. However, it is quite large and you will need an assistant to hold it while you take photographs. Overall it gives great results!

One word of caution...this thing is big! Yes, I read the dimensions before purchasing, but it's huge when you're actually holding it. It's also very hard to control if you're outside and there is any wind (I got the reflector to use for outdoor portraits.) You can see the gold light reflected back on the subject really well, but the white reflected light is a little more difficult to gauge. The effect is much more subtle. I've used it in studio as a flash reflector, and it performed well. It is quite durable and holds up to regular use superbly.
Some people have noted that it's hard to fold back up, but once you get the hang of it, it's no problem at all. I searched youtube for a video on "how to fold a reflector," and that helped.
