Comments about Elinchrom Digital Style 600RX Flash Two Monolight Kit (120VAC):
I have used Elinchrom Monolights for over 15 years. This kit replaced my first set of Elinchrom Monolights. The reason why I replaced the original kit was because the voltage was rated higher than what digital camera manufacturers recommend. How I got around this (when using my digital bodies) was to either use Pocket Wizard's or not connet the cable directly to the camera body.
These units are well made, many additional accessories can be purchased, and, if you don't want to purchase an Elinchrom accessory, many 3rd party manufacturers make accessories to work with your Elinchrom. If you go this route, you would need to purchase the necessary speed ring to work with your monolight. Also, since Elinchrom Umbrella's use a smaller shaft than other manufacturers, you won't be able to slide the shaft of your 3rd party manufacturer thru the monolight. Elinchrom has a bracket for your 3rd party umbrella, it's near where you attach your monolight to the light stand
I also like the fact that no matter how long I have my monolights on, the color temperature always stays the same.
You can decrease or increase the power in 1/10 of a stop and there is no need to pop your flash after you decrease the power.
The digital interface is quite easy to understand.
There is a built in slave so you can fire both monolights simultaneously.
I use these monolights to shoot portraits, copy work, and product shots.
