From sE Electronics, the 2200a is a cost effective, professional large diaphragm condenser microphone designed for high quality recording in project studios, home studios, broadcast studios, and more. The wide frequency response and cardioid polar pattern are ideal for accurate reproduction of vocals and instruments, while minimizing off-axis noise and feedback. The 2200a has a -10dB pad for added headroom when recording excessive peaks and a low cut filter switch eliminates low frequency noise. The 2200a is more than suitable for general vocal and instrument recording.

Comments about sE Electronics 2200a Condenser Microphone:
You can not buy a better sounding mic for home recording in this price range or even much more. Unless you buy a Neuman, I couldn't recommend a better mic for any price. Great price & [...] from B&H too. Thanks so much.

Comments about sE Electronics 2200a Condenser Microphone:
Have used this mic for:
A) Baritone male lead vocal. Tracked with Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro pre-amp. The result was clean in the upper registers and lacking (a good thing) an overbearing bottom response. I also tried an AKG 414 UBLS and a Neumann 87 with this singer-ended up with the SE-Electronics. Sat well in mix with a minimum of post-tracking EQ applied;
B) Classical flute. Tracked with board pre-amp (Trident 80). Result was pleasing in upper registers-no strident barking and tight in the lower flute material.
Overall, I was pleased with the performance of this mic. I would audition this mic on any male singer and will try it this week on a solo violinist. Very good price/performance ratio. I will probably purchase another to use with this one for stereo drum room ambiance.
