[$] falls into the no-brainer category for me when it comes to photography. As others mentioned, this stand goes well above the 6’ advertised height. Plus with the umbrella you’re sitting up at a pretty good height. When I ordered, I didn’t stop to check if this was an air-cushioned stand. I was a little dismayed when it arrived and I figured out it wasn’t. I have another stand (impact 8’) that is cushioned and I really like that feature. However it is more expensive so I can live without it. Its a bit wobbly fully extended so its definitely not as sturdy as my other stand. However, I don’t doubt that it will do the trick. If you can swing the extra money, then go for an air cushioned one. This one will work just fine for now though.I give it a 4 because at this price, its hard to argue anything less.

I have been using 3 air cushioned 13 ft Impact stands for over a year, they were too bulky to load up every time I had a shoot so I took a shot at these compact 6ft stands.
These are ideal for indoor photography when using hot shoe flashes or small studio strobes. Outdoors, I would be hesitant to use them with any light modifiers and without a weight. They can be extended well past 6 feet, maybe up to 8-9 feet but get very unstable at that height. At around 5-6 feet they are very stable indoors. They have about the same build quality of the higher end Impact stands.

This light stand was my first purchase of the type. I am recently entering the world of off camera flash portraiture. I purchased this light stand along with an umbrella and flash bracket. As I have never used any of the air cushioned light stands, I cannot compare the quality or lack there of to anything, but I can say that the stand is very stable, easy to raise and lower, and it works well for its intended purpose. I would purchase again and most likely will.

This product is very cheeply made. We purchased them for student use and a year later almost all stands have major problems. Some of the rises are jammed and some of the clips have broken. Overall the stands are inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. These stands are not made for wear and tear.

These are very affordable for a home studio and work pretty well. Hold my big strobes and are very easy to use. The stands work perfectly as they suppose to and don't move that much.

I use this stand whenever I use my umbrella and flash mount. The best thing about this stand is the price and quality you get for it. I was pleasantly surprised about the weight. It isn't too heavy if you're a casual photographer, but heavy enough to hold it's own if there's a slight breeze. It's kind of a double edged sword, though. It will fall over if it's too windy outside, but then again, that's the problem with any stand.

I bought one of these earlier and I have been happy with it. So I thought of adding two more of these stands. This is very inexpensive light stand but so far it worked great for me. Initialy I bought this as a remote flash stand. This is not a heavy duty light stand but for light use this works great. It is too early for me to comment on the durability of this stand.

Your definitely getting what you pay for. These stands are good for strobe work and the build construction is pretty nice. It definitely won't break on you, but for use with any moderately heavy or large light modifiers you should search for a more sturdy solution.

The light stand extends longer than I had expected. With a shoe mount and wireless trigger attached, the assembly stands even taller. It is so lightweight that I would not use it outdoors with out some sandbags or a spotter.

For the price, this stand is unbeatable. I use it to hold a heavier beauty dish and it works very well. I just use something to weigh the bottom down when supporting heavy objects in case it gets bumped and I couldn't be happier.

Pretty good stand. It's a little flimsier than I thought it would be, but it holds my strobe and an umbrella just fine. Use sand bags if you plan on using this outside.

I am just getting into using strobes and a more professional setup. I got two of these for the strobes I had just ordered. The stands are rock solid. Great looking too. I am very impressed. I will definitely buy more of these in the future!

I purchased this stand to use with the 32" Impact convertible umbrella also by Impact. The quality of both items is fantastic and I was surprised that the cost was so low.

Kudos to Impact for making a fine product. Quality construction + low price = good value. I use this stand indoors with smaller equipment. For larger loads and outdoor work, I'd recommend something more substantial and less likely to tip over, such as the 9.5' Impact Air-Cushioned Heavy Duty Light Stand.

I really like these stands. They are light and easy to take down and set up. My intention is to use them in studio work or take them with me to indoor shoots.
