The Aurora 16 from Lynx Studio Technology is a sixteen-channel, 24-bit/192kHz analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog converter, housed in a single-space rack-mount chassis. The unit is a professional interface, developed for ease of installation into recording and mastering studios and live sound applications.
The analog I/O is electronically balanced and supports both +4dBU and -10dBV operation. The AES digital I/O is transformer coupled and capable of driving 500 feet of cable at 192kHz, with both dual and single-wire AES channel modes supported. The front panel is designed to provide easy access to all important controls and signal status.
The converter also offers extensive remote control capability with all front panel features, as well as other low-level options being controlled from the Lynx AES16 digital interface card, a Pocket PC or laptop via infrared, MIDI or an optional LSlot interface card. The optional LT-HD card provides direct connectivity to Digidesign's Pro Tools HD systems.
The on-board 32-channel digital mixer provides extensive routing and mixing options. Acting as a digital router, the converter can route signals between analog and digital inputs on a channel-by-channel basis. Lynx's proprietary SynchroLock jitter technology provides extreme jitter reduction and allows the unit to output an extremely clean clock for driving all digital audio systems.
