This Century Precision Optics 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens is for the Sony HDR-FX1 & HVR-Z1U camcorders. The wide angle coefficient is 0.7x, which delivers a 30% wider angle than your stock lens. The resulting focal length is 3.1-37.8mm. This lens will bayonet mount directly to the lens of the Sony HDR-FX1 & HVR-Z1U .

This lens works great. The bayonet mount is a cinch to use, it shoots fantastic video and cleans and stores very easily. It feels very durable and well constructed and fits in easily with my other HDR-FX1 equipment. The only downside I could come up with is that it isn't a wider angle. The Canon equivalent camera, the XH-A1 has available a Canon-made .8x lens. Other than that it's a great buy for anyone with an HDR-FX1 looking to go pro and get bigger, more dynamic shots.

The Precision Optics 0.7x Wide angle for the Sony HVR-Z1U is extremely easy to attach. The only negative is the weight. Adds a considerable amount of weight to the front of the camcorder. The wide angle feature makes up for the weight however.
