The AKG C542BL is a highly sensitive hemispherical boundary microphone designed for speech, instrument and room ambiance capturing in professional recording and live sound applications. The microphone features an inconspicuous low-profile and screw holes for permanent mounting on walls, floors, ceilings and desk-top surfaces. The condenser transducer is mounted within the circular metal plate measuring 5mm (0.2") thick. The housing does not interfere with the color of the sound and the uniform frequency response remains consistent around the perimeter of the microphone. The 3-pin XLR output connector features a switchable low-cut filter that eliminates low frequency and surface noise. The C542BL is at home in lectures, theatrical, conference and professional recording applications.

Comments about AKG C542BL Boundary Microphone:
The Speech Clinic supervisors on our university campus wanted a microphone for each of their eight observation rooms that could be mounted discretely on a wall and be sensitive enough to monitor conversations between counselors and children in therapy. The AKG C542BL was the perfect choice... it's low profile and predrilled wall mount holes allow it to be installed with minimal distraction in a therapeutic environment.
