The Hasselblad 100 mm f/2.2 is a fast lens particularly suited to low-light situations or for action shots where higher shutter speeds are required. The slightly longer than standard length coupled with its shorter depth-of-field makes it an interesting choice for portraits too in many instances.

Comments about Hasselblad Normal 100mm f/2.2 HC Auto Focus Lens:
I use the 100 2.2 for wedding film photography. This lens is super amazing, its has "The Look" if you know what I mean. The Shallow Depth of Field is perfect for what I do. Head shots, Full body and Groups.. this lens has it all.
The only bad thing about this lens is the price. But it sure is worth it.

Comments about Hasselblad Normal 100mm f/2.2 HC Auto Focus Lens:
The best lens in the Hasselblad range for fashion and beauty shots. Shots wide open have a very shallow depth of field and focuses quickly for a medium format lens. Leaf shutter great for powering the ambient sunlight.

Comments about Hasselblad Normal 100mm f/2.2 HC Auto Focus Lens:
I mainly use my H3DII-31 for portraits.... combined with this lens I get stunning images. Only when shooting outdoors do I wish I a wider lens.... but most of the time, I just take a few steps back.... not always possible, I know.
I have shot portraits with the 120mm and also get stellar results, but the size and speed of this 100mm lens makes it my #1 choice.
The 35-90mm is also interesting, but my budget doesn't allow it.
I think I'll add the 50mm next... if you only have one lens for the time being, then this should probably be it.

Comments about Hasselblad Normal 100mm f/2.2 HC Auto Focus Lens:
This lens allows a natural easy-on-the-eye perspective. While it's longer than 'normal' focal length creates a tighter angle of view, thus eliminating background clutter,(without the forced perspective of telephotos and wide angle lenses). I just shot my 3rd cookbook, and this was the only lens I used. Great for getting close and intimate food shots ( with extension tubes ). Plus fast and easy to use when shooting handheld-edgy lifestyle shots of the chef at a farmers market, having dinner for family and friends, cooking in the kitchen, etc. I have a full complement of Hasselblad lenses, but this is my favorite.
