Designed for Blue's line of spherical microphones (like The Snowball), The Ringer uses elastics to suspend the mic when mounted on a stand. This dramatically reduces low frequency vibrations that can create unwanted noise (like rumbling from footsteps and vehicles). It also doesn't hurt that The Ringer looks really cool! It's compatible with any microphone with a built-in thread mount or a thread mounting clip that fits inside its ring.

Comments about Blue Ringer Shock Mount:
If you have ever dreamed of being Jack Benny, Bing Crosby or any of the other Golden Age of Radio stars while you speak, sing, or perform, and you are using the Blue Snowball USB mic for Digital purposes, the Blue Ringer does exactly what it says it does and does so admirably; it isolates the mike from nearby vibrations. Since I use it for a podcast, I sometimes shift in my seat or bump the table. with my old mike, it would pick those up. Using the Blue Snowball and the Blue Ringer, I can actually move and shift in my seat and not worry about it being picked up, even at the most sensitive mic setting.
If you own a Blue Snowball and want to give it a little more isolation and protection from picking up stray vibrations, the Ringer performs the job admirably. the fact that you feel like a 40's radio star using it is an added cool bonus :).

Comments about Blue Ringer Shock Mount:
I just received the Blue Ringer Shock mount. on first, glance it looks, large and heavy, but when picked up and mounted on the mic stand, it seemed to cradle the microphone nicely. The knobs to tighten seem a little fragile (I broke one off while tightening) but if you get it adjusted properly, you shouldn't have to mess with it more than the first time. Overall I would give the product 4 out of 5 stars.n

Comments about Blue Ringer Shock Mount:
Low cost and built for use with the Blue Snowball. Durable, well made, and standard thread mounting.
This is a bit heavy for the desktop stand that comes with the Snowball. I purchased a real boom mic stand for use with the shock mount and the microphone due to the weight and how I have things set up.
