I bought this filter to use as a lens protector, right out of the package the filter was crystal clear and ready to use. The quality is great, it's made by Nikon what more is there to say.

Thought of investing in a filter to protect my Nikon lens. Initially, I though of buying a Hoya but I thought mind as well buy the original Nikon filter to match the lens. The quality is great and the filter is made in Japan. It does its job and the bonus is that it makes my Nikon lens more expensive.

Got this clear filter to protect the front element my new Nikon 16-85 as I run around with it much of the time for general shooting. Notice no real difference in quality or sharpness with it on or off, which is a good thing. Great price here at B&H compared to all the options where I live!

Nikon glass is used and it has NIC on both sides. However, it is not a "Filter". It does not filter anything. It lets all visible light through. It is strictly a shield against front lens wear and tear. Using it on Nano Crystal coated lenses makes sense to protect the special lens coating. The "filter" is quality made, and meets my expectations for a Nikon product. It is virtually transparent, but you may get reflections in your image if pointed at bright light sources. The glass coating will reduce reflections, not eliminate them. If tempted to take pictures of the daytime sun, take it off the lens for the shot, then put the lens protector back when done. I don't use the lens cap when the lens protector is mounted.

Glass is nice, crystal clear, good quality, and protects the lens. I love that it is clean, consistent, and looks more like part of the assembly with 'Nikon' written on it to match the lens and camera as opposed to some other brand.

This is the second filter that I purchased for my Nikon lens. The first filter was by a reputable manufacturer and seemed to fit well, but it fell off the lens and shattered. The Nikon filter has a more secure fit.

I now know why these are so important. My husband and I went to Cape Cod for vacation. I had gone off shopping and he was being nice cleaning out the car. He dropped my camera (it was in a case) he did not think any thing was wrong. I opened it the next day and the fliter was shattered. Thank God I had it on the lense otherwise my $400 lense might have been shattered. I recommend a filter on every lense you own.

Bought this after I found out that the cheap filter I had killed some great photos. Cheap filter created some weird reflections while shooting a skyline at night. Bought this filter the next morning.

Bought a pair of these to protect the lenses for my Nikon D90. Stick with Nikon brand for the NC lens used as protection for your Nikon lenses. The fit is perfect. Clean and ready to go right out of the protective box.

This NC Filter is so clear it looks invisible when viewed from straight on. I got it to protect the kit lens my D7000 came with, and its been doing its job. I haven't run into many cases yet where glare from bright light has been an issue so it seems to handle that pretty well.

I like to protect the front element of my lenses, especially when I'm out shooting in all kinds of weather. I trust Nikon for quality glass.

I threw it on my 67mm NIKKOR 18-105mm lens as soon as I had both the lens and the filter. I have yet to test this product thoroughly (i.e., I haven't dropped or scratched my lens yet), but I think this will do exactly what I intended it to do: protect my lens from scratches.

Of course, there are people who say "any extra glass" will distort your image, but I've yet to see that happen. (Disclaimer: I'm a beginner in photography.)
