The Tamrac 5575 Expedition 5 Photo Backpack is a compact backpack that offers foam-padded protection and quick access to an SLR, lenses, flash and accessories. The main compartment is completely foam padded with numerous adjustable, foam-padded dividers to protect a digital or film SLR, 5-7 lenses, and a flash. The camera with a zoom lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers that are internally reinforced with rigid plastic. A restraint strap holds the lens firmly in place.
The 5575 has two Windowpane-Mesh pockets inside the front flap to organize filters, film, and other accessories. A plastic foam-padded platform in the bottom provides shock protection while a LockDown rain flap protects the zipper from the elements. The front pocket holds extra gear and features a water-resistant zipper.

Comments about Tamrac 5575 Expedition 5 Backpack:
This bag replaces my Canon 200EG. I liked the Canon bag but it was a little too small for where my interests have taken me. It also had a zipper problem. The Tamrac Expedition 5 meets all of my needs. It holds one 20D/70-200 with BG-E2, one 24-70L Lens, one EF1.4 and EF2.0, TC-80N3, two extra 511A batteries plus charger, 580EX, CP-E3, OS-E2, CF cards, a couple of filters, extra batteries, lens cleaning kit, small tool bag and gray card. Extra room left. Although this bag costs quite a bit more than the Canon 200EG, I believe that the principle of, 'you get what you pay', for applies here.

Comments about Tamrac 5575 Expedition 5 Backpack:
After upgrading to a 40D from my Rebel Xt I needed something more to hold everything. Then I bought a 80-200 2.8L and that didnt fit in anything I owned. So I bought this bag, I have my 40D with battery grip, EOS film camera, 80-200 2.8, 17-85 IS, 50mm, 28-90mm, and 430Ex with room to spare a few things. On top of that I have multiple rolls of film, memory cards and filters. It's a great bag, do not hesitate to buy it!

This bag holds everything I need. 1 camera body with a long lens, mid range lens, wide angle, 2x extender, filters, photo cards.... Plus I carry a storm jacket for my camera in the outter bag. There is still room for airline tickets and your passport. I really like being able to strap on my tripod to the back and carry it securely. I carried this loaded pack all around Greece and Africa with me with absolutely no problems at all. You can adjust the straps so the weight is distributed and it feels half the weight that it really is. I was amazed! I liked this bag so well, I ordered another one just like it for my husband's video equipment. This is the only photo backpack you'll ever need.

Comments about Tamrac 5575 Expedition 5 Backpack:
I bought this to hold a camera with a Nikon 70-200VR mounted. The Expedition 5 works great. There are lots of places to keep extras. The only complaint I have is that the zippers all have a string tie on each end. These ties can sometimes get in the way when using other zippers. However, I presume these ties do help keep the zippers from clanging against each other when walking. The construction is superb! I tried a SlingShot 300, but did not like the way it pulled on my shoulder. The Expedition 5 is much more comfortable.
Problems Encountered: None.
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: I tried a LowePro SlingShot 300AW, but returned it to get the Expedition.
Comments about Tamrac 5575 Expedition 5 Backpack:
I must say that this is one of the best purchases that I've made in a while. The zippers are smooth. It is very comfortable. Plenty of space for several lenses and a couple bodies. Multiple pockets for extra memory cards, batteries, your cell phone and just about any other thing that you'd need to take along. It is also surprisingly light which is wonderful after you start loading it up with equipment.
