Comments about Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster:
I use a Nikon D300 with Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom, and I keep a tripod Q/R plate on the camera. That's a fairly bulky lens, especially with the hood reversed, but it just perfectly fits this bag. I don't have the MB-D10 battery grip (a bit costly for me), however the grip would fit nicely in this bag even with Q/R plate. Even without the grip though, I don't think I'd want to try using a bag any smaller than this one for my rig. The small external zippered storage compartment holds my spare battery, spare memory card, plus a couple of stack-capped filters, with very little extra room left over. I bought the bag not intending to carry anything else there, and this bag is probably too small for any user wanting room for much more than those items. I use a Sun-Sniper Steel sling strap (similar to Black Rapid, Luma Loop, etc.) clipped to the Q/R plate screw swivel ring, and the primary reason I bought this bag was so I could protect the camera while carrying it slung. The bag zips almost all the way shut, the strap goes through a gap at the bottom left corner, and the camera stays on the sling while in the bag, padded & protected from rain etc. I rigged a simple second loop & clip for the bag to hang separately from the sling behind the camera, or the bag can be unclipped & set aside, while either way I can carry the camera in the open ready for use. This bag has just enough storage that I can leave my big kit bag at home or in the car if I don't need more than one lens, or the flash, etc. and carry just the minimum necessites with me.

This is my second one of the same model. There was nothing wrong with the first one, but it was so good that I had to purchase another to place my D7000 in. Just like the first bag, this bag makes it quite easy to access my cameras when I am out and about. There aren't any negatives that I can point out, even though I have had one of these bags for over two years. Get it if you need it. Period.

I had another"snoot" I used for my T1i and ef 28-105mm canon lens, but when I added the grip, I needed a bigger bag and one for a longer lens. This bag works great. With my Canon ef 100-300mm USM on, it fits perfectly, but with a shorter lens it helps to stuff some extra material in the bottom for a good fit. I use an old sock. The weather flap is a great feature also. The M.A.S. accessory system is also a great feature. I got the medium and large M.A.S. lens pouches that attach to the sides of the bag when more than one lens won't do. I'm really happy with this bag. And the storage area on the front, is perfect for small extras like filters.

I had the Digital Zoom 4, that was wonderful product, that I used for my Canon 30D fit perfectly and beautiful, but since I purchased the Canon 60D & battery grip paired with EFS 17-55mm F/2.8 and need more room for it, so I bought this Tamrac 5627 Digital Zoom 7 to fit everything I wanted. Another wonderful product from Tamrac that I owned.

I use this bag for my Canon 50D with grip and rear screen/botton shield. It's a perfect fit and the camera strap lays perfectly on top. The only drawback is that with 2 extra batteries and a memory card case in the front zipper pocket, it's a bit snug. I think an extra pocket on at least one side could be added. Other than that it's a great bag.

I was looking for something to carry my Canon 40D camera and have quick and easy access to traveling to and from work, without having to carry my sling bag. This fit the bill perfectly, I can have my camera with 300 zoom with lens shade and it fits perfect. The top is zipped with a quick connect latch, I would have given up the latch for velcro, this would have made it a 5 star. Although I can't imagine a quick trip around town or a short trip without my 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster by Tamrac....thumbs up

I bought this case to carry my 5D Mark II (gripped) with the 24-105 and a few extras like flash cards. Works great, although I use a pacsafe strap for carrying. It does fit snug so it takes a little effort to store and remove the camera, but not too much.

Comments about Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster:
The bag is big enough for my a700 with grip and large lens. I can't really add anything new to the pros for this holster from what previous reviewers have said.
On the other hand, there is one thing that I don't care for in the design of this holster. I wish it had some type of cradle for the camera. Maybe a support near the top with a hole that the lens would slide into. Because it doesn't have that the support for the camera is less than ideal.
Still, it is a very good bag to use when I don't want to lug everything along with me.

I bought this pack to accomodate my Canon EOS 40D with attached Canon 24-105 L series lens. The Zoom 5 bag I owned was a little too short. This Zoom 7 bag has about 2 inches to spare, which is great for holding extra filters, batteries, or folding lens hoods. This is a GREAT bag, designed just as I need it to be.

Comments about Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster:
Excellent bag, and I actually carry this with me to work everyday (I have a backpack where I put my laptop and other office items). I also have other tamrac pouches (w/ water bottle, for filters, flash pouches, etc.) and I just attach them to the sides when I go on a short hike. Great and durable and if used carefully and sparingly, it actually protects your equipment against the elements. I took this one during the NY snowstorm and it has kept my 40D dry (I also had the stormcover when the 40D was out of this holster). If you're a minimalist with a semi-pro DSLR Body and a standard zoom lens, this bag could just be right for you. Here's a sample photo of how I recently used this while on a little trek:[@]Why 4 stars? I think TAMRAC could have added one more hidden pocket somewhere in the exterior area of the bag...but I'm just nitpicking. Bag is excellent.Gear that goes into the bag: Canon 40D w/ or w/o grip with Kirk BL 50D L-plate; 24-105 f4L lens with hood; RS-80N3 remote.

5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster comfortably fits my Nikon D200 with Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 DX Lens, plus has organized areas for a couple of extra batteries, memory cards, and basic card-type items. Very useful, compact camera bag when carrying minimum accessories. Easy to place camera in, and no wasted space, so it's a great size for non-full frame DSLRs with modest zoom lens. Padded upper strap has curved contour to help it hang well on shoulder or across body. Head's up - do not go smaller than the Zoom 7 for D200-sized DSLRs.

Offers great protection to my Nikon D80 and Lense. Fits well with the MB-D80 Nikon Battery Pack/Grip extension attached to Camera, which was my basic requirement. Made traveling with camera very convenient, especially through airports. Protected my camera/lense throughout our vacation. Extra pockets very handy for accesories, extra memory cards, lense cleaning paper, etc..... An excellent value for the protection offered. I highly recommend this product.

Camera/lens very secure. Easy in/out.Holster bag is well padded [with accompanying bulk], secure with zipper and buckle; weather-proof. Carrying strap extremely comfortable. When ordering this type of bag be sure to measure camera/lens length, and compare it to the interior dimensions of the bag. I use it for a Nikon D90 [no winder] with Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 w/attached lens shade

Comments about Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster:
I bought this bag for my Canon 40D. Typically, I have my favorite 24-105 zoom lens and battery grip attached to the camera. Everything fits perfectly into this holster (including the camera shoulder strap).
I was looking for something I could throw over my shoulder or into a saddlebag on my motorcycle and this Tamrac bag is very nicely constructed and sturdy so the camera is safe and secure on those long roads trips.
If I had to make a wish, it might by to add at least one more small little pocket for stuff, but it would start to get bulky and that's why I didn't by a big regular-style bag in the first place. So scratch the idea... it's great!

Comments about Tamrac 5627 Pro Digital Zoom 7 Holster:
I use this case to carry a Nikon D2x fitted with a Nikor DX18-200VR lens (heavy and large camera body). It's for use in severe elements with just an absolute minimum of accessories (for traveling as compact, as possible). The case is exceptionally nicely lined to protect against "bumps" and its rain cover flap protects against heavy rains and brutal winds. The adjustable padded strap is long and strong permitting the strap to be worn over the neck with the case to the other side. This facilitates the camera to be carried on the back but quickly swung around to the front for almost immediate camera use.
It includes an accessory pocket under the lid and another in front under the rain cover that are useful for memory cards and a battery or two.
It's exceptional in that it's small, strong, well padded, and weather resistant! It would be nice if a flash unit would also fit inside the case, but then size would be sacrificed. Can't have it "both ways".
I HIGHLY recommend this case for above described needs.
