A JMI Telescopes Quick-Release Finder Bracket such as this allows you to detach and reattach your finderscope whenever you wish, without losing its alignment with the big scope itself! That shaves off precious bulk for transport.
In most cases this bracket attaches with the screws already present on your telescope's optical tube, and additional hardware is provided for mounting the finder to the bracket.
This model fits Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes from Celestron which are 5-11" in diameter as well as newer 14" offerings & Meade's LX90 models(LNT module with SmartFinder).
