The Trophy series was designed to be amongst the most affordable waterproof & fogproof binoculars on the market today.  They feature comfortable twist-up eyecups, fully multicoated lenses and large center focusing knobs which are easy to manipulate in all settings.  With tough rubber armoring, a boneheaded dropping or two is unlikely to cause a loss of lens alignment.

Bushnell deserves much credit for their Trophy lineup, with designs that have not historically been attempted very often in the ever-more-popular roof prism configuration(such as an 8x56, 9x63 and 10x50).  Binoculars are kind of like shoes; it is simply impossible to have just one which will be well suited to all tasks.  Just as some shoes are more appropriate on ballroom floors than other pairs better on basketball courts, there are binoculars best for scanning the skies that would be wholly inappropriate for the theatre.  So if you begin to thoroughly enjoy 'glassing', you'll likely crave more than a single binocular.  And while the classic 7x42, 8x42 or 10x42 should likely be any birding or sports enthusiast's mainstay accompaniment, it would certainly be nice to have a slightly oversized unit in the 50-63mm objective lens class to use upon occasion.

If your mainstay is a 10x42, for example, and ideal second would be an 8x56, which gathers much more light and along with its lower magnification has an exit pupil diameter that is 66% bigger and could be used in practically anything but total darkness.  If you preferred a 7x42 or 8x42 as your primary, you'd be well suited to getting a 10x50 or 9x63.  For many years, to have such designs in a roof prism unit would mean forking over about $1000 or so for an ultra-luxury European model.  But Bushnell has brought these to the market at a more sensible pricepoint, with fully multicoated optics and several options.  This is commendable!
