The direct to screen, pressure sensitive pen, is like drawing with a pencil on paper, or painting with a brush on canvas. I know most people think this is the most amazing product on the planet, but for this much money, I think it leaves a little to be desired.
For one, you can't judge the sharpness of lines and images because of the anti-reflective finish of the glass, so it's really useless for editing sharpness and clarity. Also, there is usually a small distance between the point where your pen is touching the screen and the cursor. This becomes more noticeable as you get closer to the screen's edges. It seems like they could have developed a driver that allows for more accurate calibration, or tried harder to minimize the gap between the surface glass and the lcd beneath it. Otherwise, I'd say that the build quality feels solid and the colors are really accurate. It's a great idea and a really great product, but came up short in the end when I considered the cost.

I got the Cintiq mainly to do presentation materials, and right out of the box the color is unbelivably good! Some of the things I put together are regular illustrations and other diagrams on PowerPoint slides. The Cintiq really ramps up the productivity!
It was easy to install and works with all the software I have tried with it. Mechanically it is very solid which makes using the pen on it very comfortable to do.
I also use it for work with digital photos and it is great there too.

Works very well. If you like wacom's other tablets then you should enjoy using the Cintiq. I've found color rendition and contrast to be reasonable.
In my experience however the vista drivers are buggy. Also if you are a windows user setup can be a pain, because windows turns on all these "advanced" tablet functions that annoying conflict with the use of the cintiq.

I really like the Tablet's ease of use. I usually try things before I pick up the owner's manual. So far I haven't needed it. I use it primarily with Photoshop. However, I am using it as the main monitor on this computer and find that it works with most applications.
It is heavier than I expected.

I use this product in conjunction with PS CS4 on a Mac. The instructions for the Mac (use and installation) were very vague. The product is much larger in real life that it looks in the photos, measure it out before you buy. I think it may be too heavy for lap use (haven't tried yet) but the adjustable stand is fantastic. That about concludes any cons if you can even classify them as such. Aside from that this is an awesome piece of equipment. It has taken me a bit to get accustomed to the new work flow but this thins is really great.

We purchased this tablet for rotoscoping projects for various clients, and it's one sweet tablet! Pressure sensitive screen is very accurate and works flawlessly using Photoshop and Illustrator. Only took minutes to get used to using it.

This tablet is my favorite toy. I can now illustrate with ease, not to mention the precision of outlining and shading. I watched Tom Richmond of "Mad Magazine" fame work on the tablet in the tutorial at wacom.com and had to have one. I am a printer, but have always wanted to be an illustrator. My inking shills are limited to say the least, so I just scanned in my drawings and traced them. Great results. The only gripe I have is that in the instructions it mentioned saving the box and foam in the case that you may need to transport the Cintiq. Well, the first time I loaded it and tried to carry it, the handle snapped and the corrugated did not hold. Perhaps Wacom should charge a little more and include a plastic or aluminum carrying case.

I use this tablet for retouching images and drawing/sketching. It works well as a 2nd monitor and mouse replacement also. The direct interaction with the screen makes quick work out of general painting/drawing/retouching. Not much software setup needed other than install the drivers and set up the pressure sensitivity to your needs.
By the way, the pens are Intuos3 compatible and you can move the pen over from the Cintiq to the Intuos to have the Intuos surface control the other monitor.

I was LUCKY to have found a link back to the wacom website that had some tutorial videos on how to set up the cintiq.
Once I found the video tutorials, it was a breeze to set up.
I wish wacom had communicated to me about the video tutorials.

I just purchased this for use with my photography business. I am very pleased with my purchase so far. I bought this at the very end of my busy season so I have only had the opportunity to proof a few sessions on it so far, but it seems that it is going to significantly decrease my proofing time. It was simple to set up, but I did have to buy an adapter to plug the additional monitor into my mac.

My wife and I bought the Cintiq 21ux to use with photoshop and a cad landscaping program. The Cintiq has improved my wife's productivity 10 fold in photoshop. The ease of use is incredible. The set-up was easy, software worked flawlessly with our computer, and the flexability of Cintiq to be used in so many ways is amazing. We highly recommend this product for any professional or advanced hobbyist!The only problem we have with our Cintiq is deciding who is going to use it now!
