I have used this bag for 2 years now for my Sony PD 170 camcorder. I find it to be very practical whilst shooting weddings as I can take the camcorder out from the bag whilst I am in motion. This is important for any run and gun videographer. It is very comfortable to have around my shoulder and often I will not put this bag down for hours on end. I have designed this bag to fit my wide angle lens, wireless mics, spare batteries and audio cables all to fit in the main compartment, so basically, it holds my camcorder PLUS all the accessories that go with it. The velcro style yellow dividers allow for perfect customization and I still have a few dividers left over. There is a side pocket for the full length of the bag which I also find useful. I am not the person who likes bags with way too many pockets as when in a hurry I may waste time searching through many pockets, that's why I like the practicality and simplicity of this bag.The outer construction is quite tough, with the ends of the bag having a rigid and curved backing which will come in handy when you walk into a car or door way and bash the bag, you know that your gear is protected. At first, when the bag is wide open, I thought that the zippers will fail as the lid of the bag flexes both zippers over 90 degrees, but so far (and 50 weddings later) the zippers are still perfect. My PD170 including shotgun mic can sit in the bag, no problem. It has the height not to rub against the attached shotgun microphone. It also fits in the airliners luggage compartment (just). You may have to compress the carry handle a bit.I have never had this bag in the rain so I cannot comment on its water resistance.I am very happy with this product and will be purchasing another one very soon for my new Canon XH-A1 which does also fit perfectly.
Expertise: Professional Event Videography
Problems Encountered: So far, never have I once had any negative issue with this bag. I have had this bag very close to 2 years now, and I am sure it will go another 2 to 3 fold, easy.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Aluminium road cases with pick and pluck foam.

I bought the Kata CC 193 GDC HDV Case to outfit my HVX 200A Panasonic Camera and accessories. I like the options to renegotiate the interior pieces to fit my needs. I fit my camera, my shotgun mic, P2 cards, batteries/pack, and still have room for my headphones and other wires that I may or may not need depending on job. Two things I would add; 1)sew off the bottom of the smaller exterior pouch and 2)on both sides of the smaller exterior pouch add elastic mesh for items like cell phone and water bottles.

Comments about Kata CC-193 GDC HDV Case:
This case is really well built, I was lucky enough to buy it when it was with a great discount, so it was the same price as the smaller version of it.
The zipper is very easy to open, and the handle feels very strong and secure.
Actually I bought it to protect my Zeppelin and microphone, it fits great inside and there's still lot's of room for accessories, such as my Zoom H4n, XLR cables and connectors.
I really like the yellow interior also, very bright and soft.
I wish it had some horizontal separators, as the bag is pretty deep, but I think it is because it's supposed to be a case for cameras, not microphones!
I can't wait to buy my C300 and keep it inside my Kata case.

Comments about Kata CC-193 GDC HDV Case:
Solid case. Large enough for my Canon XH-A1 with attached wide angle lens while still leaving plenty of room for dv-tapes, an extra battery, battery charger, a shotgun mic, lens hoods, etc etc etc. The same thing cannot be said for the CC-192.
Over all the bag seems solid, and has a reasonable build quality. The zipper is rather stiff, but I'm hoping it'll loosen up after some use. I also appreciate the strap inside which allows you to belt your camera directly to the bag to prevent any movement in transit.
This bag would have been a steal at its discounted price, even without the additional rebate.

The bag has great construction and materials are very nice. The yellow interior is very useful. The strap is very comfortable. Zippers are sturdy.
I have a Sony FS-100 and find it kind of small. Specially when taking the camera out: It barely fits wide wise. The side pocket is small. I cannot get all of my gear in the bag.
If you have a smaller camera, the bag is great.

Case seems very well built. I like the aluminum band inside that adds some solidness to the case. While my whole Sony HVR-Z7U kit fits in the case (I have a bunch of cables, 3 large batteries, manual, and a rain cover) I think the next size up might be a little easier to pull everything in and out.

I bought it because it met specs for airline carry-on. It worked perfectly, even on the narrow side of the overhead storage. And none of the gear has been stressed. I recommend it highly for travel.

Comments about Kata CC-193 GDC HDV Case:
Like the size of the bag. It has enough room for the necessary equipment associated with our shoots.
The positionable dividers are well constructed and stay in place.
The closure of the top of the bag has a double zipper pull, a clasp and velcro. Could do without the velcro, but this is a minor thing.
The identification card holder is located inside the bag under the lid. Would like to have a identification holder on the outside of the bag to tell the contents of bags apart without having to open them up.
All these are small concerns. I'm buying two more of these units next.

Very well built, glad I bought this. Camera fits like a charm. Movable dividers inside are great. Do wish it had more external pockets though. But well built, solid and will protect the camera and contents definitely.

I like this case and use it for my NX5U. It's a little tight with a shotgun mic mounted on the camera. It's getting better with time and figuring out how to get the camera in and out quickly. For my long shotgun, I have to remove the mic. Over all, the build is sturdy and I have room for AC and extra batteries.

Comments about Kata CC-193 GDC HDV Case:
I'm going to use the bag for travel to assignments for video taping. I have a Sony NX5U, mics, cables, and cover in it now. The construction of the bag is very study. Seems like it will give the camera much more protection than the bag on our other camera. Handle is reinforced and more comfortable, probably will be a bigger factor when I drop a DSLR in there with my laptop and the video camera.

Comments about Kata CC-193 GDC HDV Case:
I use this with a Sony EX1 and it give just enough room for the camera and a few other accessories. It could be a little bigger and have more compartments on the outside but the size is perfect for carrying arround. Bag as a whole is pretty stiff but it doesn't make it bad in any way.

Comments about Kata CC-193 GDC HDV Case:
It is cheap and everything I need fits there. I think it protects your gear very well, just don't throw it.
I use for my AG HMC150 and all accessories.
When I'm shooting on a dirty terrain, I tie its shoulder thing to the tripod.
Only thing should be better is that sometimes you are trying to pick up things inside it and the upper cap keeps closing.
I could have bought a more expensive model with more compartments and fancier, but for the price, I'm sure it is what I really NEED.
