The TU-80 from Boss is a slim-profile chromatic instrument tuner and metronome with a black exterior. It features a function called "Accu-Pitch" that plays a tone when the instrument is properly tuned. The metronome in the TU-80 has 7 rhythms with 10 beat variations built-in. The Reference Tone Play function allows for tuning by ear, and the Memory function stores favored tuner settings. The gracious LCD and clear graphics permit quick "spot" tuning, and the unit supports 7-string guitars, 6-string basses, strings, brass and woodwinds as well.

Comments about Boss TU-80 - Tuner/Metronome (Black):
I'm no guitar expert but I've been playing for a few years now. I've tried several different tuners while playing guitar with friends and, with the exception of really high-end tuners, this is the best tuner I've used so far. I've had this tuner for a while now, I just bought another for my brother who, after using mine a lot, requested this specific one for Christmas.
It's very accurate, although it may take a few seconds to recognize a note sometimes.

Comments about Boss TU-80 - Tuner/Metronome (Black):
I use this tuner for tuning my string bass (aka upright bass, double bass, bass fiddle, etc.) It works extremely well for tuning by plucking the strings (most tuners I've tried in the past don't) and very well with the bow. The metronome works very well too, though I wish the sound were more of a 'click' than a 'beep' (the sound can be turned off). The display is large and clear, and the unit is intuitive and easy to use. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Purchased this for my son...who uses it when he is practicing for his piano lessons. He's 10 years old. He never even ask me to help him with it and he's been using it for almost two months now. He said he would give it a 9 out of 10! It is well worth[$]
