The Nikon AS-15 enables the connection of flash sync cords fitted with standard PC-type connector to the camera body via the built-in hot shoe. It is suitable for cameras that do not feature a PC-sync terminal; it has a PC female socket upon its side, and you would attach a cord with a "PC male" end upon it just as if you were using a camera's PC female socket.
Note! This does not provide high-voltage sync protection, and is not recommended for flash units that have more than 6v.

Have a DSLR w/no PC connection? Need to hard wire sync to that strobe? This works well, this is my second one purchased (small. easy to misplace).
DO NOT use to hook up to high voltage sync strobes (in my case Norman 200 Bs), said to fry digital cameras. AS-15 seems better made than other options.

Use: to sync my camera's shutter to an Impact 400 watt strobe
Pros: small, lightweight, accurate. It's an ideal setup for a 1-light studio shoot.
Cons: the sync cable flops all over the place and falls out of the adapter port at least once every ten minutes, and this particular light syncs automatically to my flash, provided that the flash is set to TTL mode, so oftentimes this is just brought along to shoots as a backup.

I purchased the adapter for my Nikon D7000 because I have a lighting kit, but no sync portal on my camera. The sync cord fits snug so I can move around without worrying about losing my connection. It works like it's supposed to.

I was looking for a specific adapter for my camera and started with a live chat with a B&H representative. He gave me 2 products that would work. I had the right adapter and had it ordered within 5 minutes. B&H is my go to photography company from now on.

I am using the Nikon AS-15 on a Nikon D70 Digital SLR camera to interface with a Metz 45CL-4 flash. It functions as it should and permits the camera to use an external flash unit in the manual mode. I am very satisfied with the product.
I would recommend the AS-15 to anyone.

I use the product with my D 80 and Quantum flash.
Since the D 80 does not have a sync terminal the AS-15 is essential equipment.

I use this to synch my 60d with my Vivitar 285hv. Works fine though it is a little too tight on the hot shoe, making it hard to get on and off.

Just one comment: yes this works on Canon. I have used it with the XTi & T3i, for years. So do not worry, it doesn't matter if it is Nikon, it won't fry your Canon camera.

Comments about Nikon AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter (Hot Shoe to PC):
I use the flash sync adapter in a photography class to connect my camera to a strobe. It works great, and it is easy to slide in and use. The only bad thing is that it isn't the same brand as my camera, and I've been told that it could potentially "fry" my camera. So far so good though. I haven't had any problems with it.

The AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter is a must have when you need to hard wire a connection (such as a studio strobe) to a camera body with no PC connection. I use mine to connect a studio strobe with my camera body. Handy accessory for the money!

Comments about Nikon AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter (Hot Shoe to PC):
Works on all my cameras with a hot shoe, does not have to be Nikon. Great buy for anyone. Got it for my D7000 but it works on D70 and F80 35MM SLR. It is a snug fit so most of the time I don't have to crank down on the lock unless I'm going to be moving around a lot. More reliable than using wireless when doing multiple frames a second.

Comments about Nikon AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter (Hot Shoe to PC):
I have a number of Speedotron strobes and flashheads that I use in my studio. The first time I setup my new Nikon D7000 for an assignment, I made all of the needed settings, got connected to my laptop and discovered that I could not sync my strobes to the camera. The camera has a built in flash, a hot shoe, but nowhere could I find a sync outlet for my pc cord. I looked in the manual and learned that I needed an accessory to accomplish this.I called Nikon and they confirmed that an AS-15 Sync Terminal Adapter could be purchased and attached to the hot shoe. I called B&H and they overnighted the adapter so I could shoot the following day with the D7000. It works fine!
