The Nikon MC-35 GPS Adapter Cord is designed for the Nikon SLR Digital Cameras that are equipped with a 10-pin accessory connector. Its function is to support the recording of location information such as latitude, longitude, altitude and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) at which a shot is taken.
This information can be recorded from a GPS unit to the image's metadata, and is compatible with GPS units that comply with the NMEA 0183 (ver.2.01) interface standard. The GPS receiver must send data out through a DB9 serial port out and not USB as the MC-35 has a connection for serial only.
