Nikon MC-35 GPS Adapter Cord
The Nikon MC-35 GPS Adapter Cord is designed for Nikon DX2 DSLR cameras that are equipped with a 10-pin accessory connector. Its function is to support the recording of location information such as latitude, longitude, altitude and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) at which a shot is taken.
This information can be recorded from a GPS unit to the image's metadata, and is compatible with GPS units that comply with the NMEA 0183 (ver.2.01) interface standard. The GPS receiver must send data out through a DB9 serial port out and not USB as the MC-35 has a connection for serial only.
- Supported GPS Devices
- The D2X supports the following products that conform to version 2.01 of the National Marine Electronics Association NMEA0183 protocol: Garmin eTrex series Magellan SporTrak series A nine-pin D-sub computer interface cable supplied by the manufacturer is required for connection to the MC-35.

It works as advertised, but [$] (not including the GPS receiver itself) for a cable is excessive, even by Nikon's standards, and the combination is very clunky (you have to find a way to secure the dangling GPS).The Geopic II, on the other hand, is a compact all-in-one solution that fits neatly on the flash hot-shoe.

The MC-35 has a locking 10 pin connector at one end for the camera, and a standard 9 pin D-sub
connector at the other end for connection to your Garmin or Magellan computer interface cable or(serial Port Cable)Just one Problem! the female threads on the MC-35 D-sub side are incorrect, they are very fine pitch threads that will not allow you to secure your GPS interface cable for use out in the field. While this setup can work without securing the interface cable screws, it is unacceptable for a genuine Nikon accessory to be flawed this way...
