Great camera, easy to use, amazing quality. I've had it for a year now and it has perfomed flawlessly. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a SLR camera.

Comments about Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (a.k.a. 350D) Digital Camera Body (Black):
I wanted this camera for a while now, as I had some investment in EOS lenses with my old Rebel G. I had purchased a Canon S70 7 megapixel all in one from B&H a couple of years ago because it takes the same batteries as the Rebel XT! My video camera also shares the same power pack!
I use the camera mostly for family pictures. I've been able to take some professional-quality photos using the XT and a Tamron 70-300 zoom lense. I also have the Canon normal 50mm lens which is great wide open in low light with this camera. The old Rebel G kit lens also works great.
The settings wheel is familiar to any EOS user and is super simple to use. The built-in flash works very well and does not result in red-eye very much at all (it pops up higher than most built-ins).
Battery life is excellent and it's very comfortable to use. It's lightweight and fits my wife's hands very well. She never wanted to use my old Rebel, but is very happy with the XT. It's actually a little small for my hands, but I'll probably get the battery grip at some point.
The only qualm I have is that the autofocus can sometimes shift off the subject if you're not careful. I probably have to get used to manually selecting which point I want to maintain focus with. Other than that, I can't find anything negative to say about it.

I use the camera for night shots of city skylines and landscape. It does a great job at portraits but it's always best to get lighting equipment for better results and creativity.

Works great! I am presently using it with an old 28-85 lens from an non-digital Rebel. But I would love to buy the Image Stabilized lens.

I'm just starting photography, but I love this camera, and it is perfect for me. It's fast and easy to use. I don't think I'll ever go back to point-and-shoot.

Comments about Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (a.k.a. 350D) Digital Camera Body (Black):
I am an old photographer. I resisted change with a vengence. I just wouldn't give up my 35mm film camera, a Canon Rebel 2000. I love that camera.
But the time to change was at hand and I went on the word of photographer friends and looked at the Rebel digital. On the word of a professional photographer, I bought a Rebel Digital XT. What was I afraid of? The XT is a dream camera to use. On my first use, I shot over 60 photos and didn't know I had shot that much. It is the smoothest operating camera I have ever shot and is very easy to use. Thanks B&H for having this camera available and thanks for the great service.

I have used this camera now many times and it is great! The only thing I don't like about it, is you have to use the spot to take the photo instead of the picture viewer.

This camera is affordable and meets all my necessities and more. It's not too complicated and it's compatible with other lenses. The lens is the most important part of the camera so that is why the XT was the best choice for me.

Perfect camera for the person who wants the control of a digital SLR but is on a budget. 8 MP is plenty. How many do you really need anyway unless you are doing massive blow-ups. A bigger view screen would be nice, but you can't have everything for this great price. Smaller size than other SLRs makes it nice for travel too.

Comments about Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (a.k.a. 350D) Digital Camera Body (Black):
The best deal going in digital cameras right now. It can be found for well under [$]at this point, and for what it delivers, this is amazing. Image quality with a solid lens is as good or better than anything out there, including the [$]1 series cameras. Operationally, this camera is speedy fast, including focus speed, shot to shot time, burst modes, you name it. Ergonomically, it is something that should be held first, because it is a small camera, with a small handgrip. I have large hands, and I am OK with how it shoots, but it's definitely a personal matter. High ISO shooting is still amongst the best in existence, even three years after its release. 8MP on this sized sensor seems to be the sweet spot. This camera is such a fine performer, I have no intention to "upgrade" any time soon. I'll probably run this into the ground.

I manage over 30 of these cameras for the School of Communication at Illinois State University. They are very strong and sturdy cameras that can take a lot of abuse and still crank out great photos.

Upgraded from fujipix to this camera and couldn't be happier. Ability to use lenses from my canon 35mm the reason the upgrade was to Canon and not Nikon. Pic quality (w 28-105 lens) much better than fuji.

This camera is fabulous for the on-the-go phtographing style. I upgraded to digital from my EOS RebelG 35mm so all of my old lenses fit the new body. I'm very happy with the quality of the images. I don't use the LCD when shooting, and the viewfinder is accurate (unlike other models).

Comments about Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (a.k.a. 350D) Digital Camera Body (Black):
This is actually my first foray into the digital world. I own canon's 35mm Rebel, and loved it. But film has become such a hassle and digital is so convenient that I had to switch. So I went canon, knowing it would be quality, and that all my lenses would work with it. Well it was the right choice. Its everything my film camera was, but with a USB chord. Super fast. Different ISO settings. Everything my film camera could do. Now I can even try some cool trick photography, since I wont just be wasting my film as I experiment. Its great, and not a bad deal for something so loaded with features. Buy for sure.

I love my new EOS Digital Rebel XT! It was suggested to me by my cousin, who is a photographer himself. I am an aspiring photographer and this is a great learning camera. Since I've recieved my camera I have been outside almost everyday practicing aperture and shutter speed. I am able to focus on areas of my photography that I need work on and advance to the next stage. This camera can grow with me through everything I've learned and I will never get tired of it.

Pretty old model now, but my Rebel XT has been through hell and high water. The LCD and viewfinder leaves much to be desired. There is no auto-rotate feature so you spend all night manually rotating those portrait shots. This thing was a WARRIOR tho and made it past 100,000 shots. Exposure was a little off of the body... fixed with the XTi tho.

Comments about Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (a.k.a. 350D) Digital Camera Body (Black):
I have just recently gotten into photography through a course in school. I take this camera out on photo shoots of various themes- cityscapes, landscapes, and portrait photography. I found that the layout of the menu, and buttons is very intuitive for me, making it easier to use the camera. I also like the smaller size of this SLR camera because its makes it easier to carry with me places. It is also still big enough that it still fits comfortably in my hand while taking photos. I would like the larger LCD screen as some of the newer versions have, but I am still very satisfied with the product.
