I received my hard case this evening. This is a nice product to have in the event if you have to go to some places that prohibits you from bringing in large camera bags and backpacks.

This semi soft vinyl-like case is hard to use and bulky. Does a fair job of protecting the camera, but hard to open and close. It is in two parts - the base attaches securely to the camera, but the cover part snaps to the main part and can fall off if nudged just right.
Not nearly as friendly as my last Canon case.

It provides good protection. Material is good, but definetively too cumbersome to use. Other cases permit rapidly open and let hang the front part to take a picture. This one needs to be detached completely and sometimes you can't find where to place it in the middle of the woods or the seaside. When you need to put it on again, you must insert the camera with some difficulty and attach three diferent rear pieces on place to close the case properly. Not an easy task.

I'm a semi professional and I use my Canon EOS for mainly outdoor use for landscapes, photo-shoots and wildlife. This semi-hard case is useful in that it is fairly tough and protects the top part of the camera and the lense from small bumps and the like.However, it's fiddly to remove and re-inserting the camera into it is even more awkward.I only bought it because I found no alternative at the time.

I use this procut for my Rebel XTI and the casing material is great. I am not to fond how the actualy body of the camera fits into the case, I seem to have to sqeeze it in to fit.
