This Impact Master Century C Stand features a detachable "turtle" base that is easily removed to facilitate transportation. A light head can be mounted to the base directly with the aid of a stand adapter.
The base allows individual legs to be set at any angle, and can be positioned in locations not possible with classic stands. Similar to Avenger A225S.

I'm surprised there were so many good reviews for this stand. I've had one for a couple months.. thought I could save some cash over the Matthews one. But this one is horrible. The pin in the base does not stay securely attached.. it is taller than most C-stands so does not fit in my stand bag. I wish I had returned this as soon as I got it, but now it's too late. Also, despite feeling much flimsier and less secure, it is actually heavier than most c stands.
I used to be a freelance assistant in NYC, and have had my hands on a lot of c-stands. These are the worst I've ever seen.

This is the sturdiest stand I've ever used. The main stem is almost 1.5" in diameter. Its minimum height is 3 or 4 inches higher than most stands. It came in immaculate, brand new condition, and was remarkably affordable.

I bought this in conjunction with my GlidcamHD 4000 to help balance.(It was recommended in conjuction with buying the Glidecam) While it helps do that, it is awfully big and would recommend a smaller C-Stand.

Love this thing. Lots of bang for your buck. I use it as a docking station for my steadicam. super rugged but very portable. My only disappointment is that you cannot lower the center column. This remains a tall load bearing structure. Industry standard grip equipment.

Sturdy setup for lights or booms, quick and simple to assemble, but sturdiness comes at the cost of the weight.

Stand is very sturdy and heavy duty, thus it's pretty heavy, but that's a good thing. You want it to be heavy so it can hold your payload. One downside is that even at it's lowest level its still a tad high. I'm using this stand to balance my Steadicam and I have to lift it up high to attach it to the stand.

Use when balancing on Steadicam Pilot prior to film shoots. Stand is heavy and provides stability. Not easy to lug around because it's pretty heavy.

I got this stand to use with a 5' octobox, so needed something very strong. This stand does the job easily, and I'm guessing could hold even heavier equipment if I needed it to. Yes, it's heavy, but that's why it works for large, heavy modifiers.

I have been using this product now for over a month and could not imagine life without it. Yes, it is heavy, and yes, it is a bit bulky, but on the plus side, all that weight and steel make for a very durable and steady stand. I use it along with a boompole mounting kit and 16' boom, and at about 9' high you still don't need any sandbags to keep this stand from getting tipsy. I plan on buying 3 more to replace the flimsy stands that came with our light kit!

This a good piece of solid steel stand. Very solid, but this come at the price of being heavy. When I say heavy this boy is bigtime heavy!
This is the kind of stand that I want to mount a 3,000s dollars lamp-head on. Excellent value,

I use this C stand to stage my Glidecam 4000Pro. It is very solid and sturdy. It is also heavy to carry around from gig to gig, but that's what makes it so sturdy. The legs do collapse to make transporting easier. Over all great product that gets the job done.

This is a solid stand for the price. Its very sturdy and I like the extension to 9.8'. The turtle base makes it excellent for location work, as I need all the room I can spare in my small vehicle. Its a bit on the heavy side, but its a welcomed attribute for strobes and beauty dishes.

This is a wonderful product. It's heavy but not so much to make it unbearable to carry. It holds the gear we need it to and is very sturdy. Great item for a reasonable price. I highly recommend it.
