Sony BP-L60S Lithium-Ion Battery Pack - V-Shoe Mount, 14.4v/65WH
The BP-L60S from Sony is a 65Wh Li-Ion (Lithium-Ion) rechargeable battery pack. Offers energy solution requirements for camcorders, cameras, portable VTR's and other "V-Shoe" mount devices. The "V-Shoe" connector securely locks the battery to any V-shoe equipped device. A 5-step LED capacity indicator is built-in for easy reference of remaining capacity.
- Cell Chemistry
- Li-Ion batteries can deliver 40% more capacity than comparably sized NiCd batteries and are one of the lightest rechargeable batteries available today. Lithium also offers a small size, long life, low cost, superior cold temperature performance and a shelf life of 5-10 years.
- Power Status Display
- Five LED lamps located on the operators side of the camera offer a quick-look reference of available battery capacity.
- Capacity
- The BPL-60 offers 65Wh of power, which can power the average professional camcorder for 160 minutes.
- 14.4 Volts
- Professional camcorders operate on a 12-volt system. As per their design, a majority of camcorders will activate a low voltage warning or even cease to operate when they determine that the battery has fallen below 11-volts. Most equipment manufacturers suggest that a higher voltage battery should be used whenever possible.
- V-Mount
- All Sony DVCAM and Betacam SX camcorders include a "V-Mount" battery connection. The V-Mount allows the battery to mount securely to the camcorder, yet it also allows the operator to easily remove the battery with one hand. The V-Mount has become so prevalent, that other battery manufacturers have adopted it.
