Comments about Nikon CL-38 Hard Lens Case:
I use the CL-38 (two actually) to store my Nikon 105mm and 135mm DC glass when it's not in my bag. A little cumbersome for transporting your lenses, but perfect for keeping them safe at home.

Comments about Nikon CL-38 Hard Lens Case:
This is a true classic - perhaps not the most practical (or least expensive), but still a great fit for my 105mm f/2DC or my 18-200mm VR (without the hood).

Comments about Nikon CL-38 Hard Lens Case:
I like quality, hard cases. I wish they were more plentiful and easy to find. This one was a perfect fit for my Nikon 18-200mm VR lens.
Comments about Nikon CL-38 Hard Lens Case:
Needed good lens cases for my Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR and Nikkor 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 VR lenses that added minimum bulk for month long trip to NZ and AU. Bought one CL-38 case and found the 105 fits well with a little additional foam padding in bottom (cut from foam mouse pad). Found that the longer 70-300 fits with bottom pad removed and thinner pad (from mouse pad) in the bottom of the CL-38 - so I bought a second CL-38. These are "old style" Nikon cases like those I had with my Nikon F lenses - same excellent quality! Lens hoods do NOT fit in the CL-38s, but these two hoods nest together well. Both lens cases, nested lens hoods, and D200 + netbook computer fit easily in LowePro Classified 250AW shoulder bag. The CL-38s were very useful for carrying these lenses in cities & on trails, in butterfly sanctuary, on boat trips, etc. (I don't like carrying a large bag or backpack, I prefer carrying just the camera and extra lenses in city or on the trail.)
