Comments about Nikon DG-2 Eyepiece Magnifier:
I bought it (and the companion DK-22 Eyepiece Adapter for Select SLR by Nikon) for use on my Sigma SD-14. It fits, but the diameter of the magnifier severely restricts what can be seen through the viewfinder. I suppose the optical quality of the device is good, but the 'build quality' of the magnifier certainly does not justify the price---by a long shot. My advice is to look for an alternative.

Comments about Nikon DG-2 Eyepiece Magnifier:
I photograph close-ups of plants, insects...My goal this year is to have these pics focused more clearly, so when I saw this eyepiece available I had to try it. It works great for what I need. In the comparison photos I can't see much of a difference, but it made it easier to make sure the subject was in focus. It was like looking through a magnifying lens. I will definitely use this eyepiece whenever I take close-ups.

Comments about Nikon DG-2 Eyepiece Magnifier:
this works ok - provides some assistance to critical focus. Can't say it knocks me out, the design is a bit cumbersome, always putting the adaptor on & off

Comments about Nikon DG-2 Eyepiece Magnifier:
I own a pop up shade for my D300 LCD and the magnifier also helps when using both at the same time. I can insure focus and pop it up to see the complete frame.

Comments about Nikon DG-2 Eyepiece Magnifier:
When the DG-2 is flipped up for direct or 1x viewing, bear metal will contact your glasses. If your eyeglass lenses are plastic, that's it; your glasses are scratched! I sold my DG-2 years ago after scratching an eyeglass lens. Nikon should have replaced this product years ago.
If one does not wear glasses 2x gives some help with critical focus though nothing close to that afforded by the DW-2, 4, 21 or 31.
Comments about Nikon DG-2 Eyepiece Magnifier:
DG-2 helps greatly for critical focus.
Expertise: 10 years as b&w enthusiast
Problems Encountered: Glasses wearers, beware of design flaw...will SCRATCH YOUR GLASSES LENS!when the DG-2 is in the upright position (i.e. the out of the way position) there is no rubber protection to protect your glasses as you look through viewfinder. I already ruined one pair of glasses this way.also, diopter adjustment is easily changes on you as camera hangs around your neck. would like to see this somehow 'lock', once I've carefully determined optimum diopter adjustment.
