the FBQ2496 has simple to use features that work well. It's flexible operation is accurate for most situations. It only does feedback extermination, so it's most useful in combination with other signal processing equipment for sound reinforcement. It's price point makes it affordable enough to have as a "safety" for performances in a chaotic situation, or difficult acoustic space or when where there is no opportunity to calibrate the system. Its not built like a tank, but at this price it can be replaced without breaking the bank. Even when the system has been calibrated for the room, I find I'll just bring up all the microphones until feedback occurs and let the FBQ2496 take care of reducing the specific feedback prone frequencies. Its also an easy way to EQ the stage monitors.

This unit is installed in the sound system for a 400 seat church sanctuary.

It gives significantly greater headroom before feedback.

The documentation is not very explicit, but the automated basic setup as a feedback supression device is easy enough and only takes a couple of minutes.

If one follows the manual instructions for the automated setup, it is possible to damage amplifiers, speakers and you hearing.

The automated "learn" process creates a series of pulses while increasing the gain of the system until feedback occurs. Be sure that this does not result in overload to the input of the Feedback Destroyer.

Using a compressor/limiter upstream of this device during setup and normal use can help to control input signal levels, and does not seem to affect its automated setup or the system performance.

placed between mic mixer and amps. it reduced the original volume to about half. equalizer function is good. unit died after about 16 hours.

This thing is a lifesaver if you're thrown in to an environment where you need an extra set of ears/hands to kill feedback. Just used it in a really lively, less than ideal space in monitor mix. It squashed all the feedback very efficiently. Response time was quite good. My only gripe is that the channel filter LEDs don't really tell you very much. Does exactly what is it supposed to do. Great for monitor mixes, but sound seems transparent enough to use for mains as a safety net. Like flexibility of 'priming' filters, on the fly auto-filters, and manual parametric. It's like having a second engineer at your side. Seems well built...but only used on one gig so far. Well worth the $$.

Using this unit in a small chapel with 3 mics. We are pretty much stuck with the speaker / microphone placement, and were struggling to get enough volume out of our mics without getting feedback. This unit took care of that problem 100% and as a bonus, killed off a minor 60hz hum we had with a narrow band peq. Giving it 4 stars becase it's not terribly intuitive to use and the manual could be more helpful. Otherwise very happy.
