I always buy the hood for a new lens. Sometimes that hood gets a lot of use, sometimes it stays in position, reversed, on the end of the lens and is rarely if ever used. The problem is that I never really know, in advance, which of these two outcomes will turn out to be the case for a given lens. The jury's still out on the 60mm, it's such an OUTSTANDING studio portrait lens I haven't yet taken it afield where stray, uncontrolled light rays threaten at every turn.

Comments about Canon ET-67B lens Hood for EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens:
Does what it needs to do: protects the lens, keeps flare out. The Canon hoods are nicer than the third party alternatives, but still too expensive for what it does, so only 4 stars, not five.

Comments about Canon ET-67B lens Hood for EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens:
I'm a huge fan of having a lens hood that is dedicated to each lens I own. I am also an avid believe that you should purchase a lens hood that is made specifically for each lens. In this case, Canon, has spent a lot of money on product development and they know just the shape and length the lens hood should be to get the maximum quality out of your lens, so why purchase a third party product that may or may not maximize the output of your lens? I have been very happy with this purchase!!!

Comments about Canon ET-67B lens Hood for EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens:
I used to use a screw-on hood for my macro lenses, but this bayonet-mounting hood is much more convenient. Designed for the EF-S 60 mm macro, but also mounts on the EF 100 mm f 2.8 (not the new "L") macro and the front of the MT-24EX lens ring. (Watch out for blocking the flash illumination there when real close.)
It is handy that the hood reverse mounts to either the 60 mm or the 100 mm macro lenses for transport.

Comments about Canon ET-67B lens Hood for EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens:
Does the job for outdoors use. yes, this is for a macro lense and generally speaking you wont be using a hood for macro photography. i ended up using it sometimes for general purpose outdoors and that is when a hood would be nice. [$] for a hood that is just molded plastic is a bit excessive. canon should just package it with the lense for the price of the EFS 60mm f2.8. cant say it is totally worth the price, but if you want a hood you have no other choice but to buy one.

Does what it is supposed to do. Feels nice and sturdy. One thing to mention is that this is a pretty deep lens hood if you plan on doing close (1:1) macro work... I take the hood off if I am photographing insects or close up stuff.
