The Nikon #6955 FSB-1 adapter allows digiscoping with the combination of a Coolpix 4200, 5200, 5900 & 7900 digital camera and a fixed magnification MC series or DS series eyepiece.   Fabulous results can be reasonably expected.

If you are digiscoping with the newer DS Series eyepieces with a Coolpix 4200, 5200, 5900 or 7900 digital camera, you will not need any other attachments.  The DS series also work better than the MC Series because they will have less vignetting in your digiscoping.

If you are digiscoping with the Coolpix 4200, 5200, 5900 or 7900 and the MC Series eyepieces, you will need to buy the #6952 FSA-1 & 2 Non-SLR Photo Adapter in addition to this device.

The FSB-1 adapter is not compatible with older eyepieces without a helicoid-type eyecup.

As with all digiscoping efforts, you'll need a sturdy tripod with a video-type pan/tilt head as well as a cable release or remote control for your camera.  Logical choices for a tripod/head combination are indicated here as accessories, with an ascending order in price & support.

Note! Does NOT work with zoom eyepieces.
