I took this tripod with me on a month-long trip to Europe. It was light, fit easily in my backpack, and was sturdy enough to hold my DSLR. It is a great value!

a little shorter than I wanted and the nut that hold the camera to the head doesn't like to stay tight

Comments about Kowa DF-10ML Mini Tripod with 3-Way Pan Head:
If you are looking for a small, lightweight and sturdy back pack-able tripod, this is the one. It weighs 12 oz, folds to under 12" but can stand 2' high. It has features usually found on full-sized tripods: 3-way head, leg stabilizers, 3 segment telescoping legs. I find the tripod easy to set up and level. My only dislike is the "quick release" camera mount which works fine for this tripod but is not compatible with any of my other tripods.
