The remote works great so long as there is a good line of sight. I spent way to much time repositioning the sensor or going through extreme bodily gyrations while doing a self portrait in a lecture hall on campus. In addition, it seemed to have a relatively short range (about 20 feet). A remote that uses radio frequencies would have been much better as line of sight is not required. I purchased one by vello at a fraction of the cost and hope that it will work well. Unfortunately, I have not been able to test it as it arrived with a dead receiver battery.

Recently, I was in New Yersey looking at the New York skyline ready to take pano pictures. I took several pictures and inspected them on my LCD screen. I zoom in and realized that the windows and signs were blury. I knew that when I pressed the shutter button I made my camera shake enough to make this windows of the buildings and signs of the streets blurry. If I would have had this gadget that moment, I would not be writing this.

i bought the Nikon remote after owning the pearstone "freewave" wireless radio transmitter for few months. that started malfunctioning without any obvious misuse. i decided to just get the Nikon one hoping it would be more reliable. the main difference is the other one uses radio waves to control, so the remote doesn't need to be in direct line of sight of the receiver, where as the nikon one is infrared so the remote does need to "see" the receiver. however, the receiver is able to rotate on top of the hotshoe, so you can be in any direction around the camera.

Easy to use! It performs exactly how I expected it to. The only criticism (minor inconvenience) I have is, the carrying case is a little flimsy and odd shaped- makes it hard to find the perfect spot in my gear bag.

It's very nice to use, but a little finicky about the angle at which you point the remote. As long as you keep that in mind it's really nice to use. Using it with a flash on your camera? That's why I only gave it 4 stars. There's no other easy way to mount it to the camera besides the hot shoe or an external bracket. I can't use a bracket just for this thing, so I have to leave it hanging off the camera. Otherwise it's great, indispensable for getting sharp exposure fusion/HDR shots. Especially if your tripod is on carpeting or otherwise unsteady ground.

I have used this remote for about three weeks straight and have had no issues with it. I primarily use this for longer exposures in outdoor situations. I have had the chance to visit almost 50 waterfall sites and have not had one issue with it!

I have read some of the other reviews of this using the hot shoe for the camera, not allowing the use of a flash. I would not need this product if I could use flash in my shots... For those that have this as a complaint I would recommend getting a bracket type setup for this unit if you absolutely need the hot shoe. Not a difficult work around at all!

The only complaint I would have, which has nothing to do with the unit and everything to do with my poor tripod placement, is that the shoe mount is plastic. My tripod fell over and the receiver hit the ground, protecting my camera (D700) I might add, and broke most of the shoe attachment off.

Very easy to use. I love it!!

I had bought a different remote for my D300 but found it too bulky and limited in range. After researching other products and speaking to your knowledgeable staff I chose the ML-3. I have used it a number of times and qwould recommend this product to others.

I use this whenever I have a need to put my camera on a tripod. This allows me to be able to roam further away from the camera and take shots as opposed to having one that uses a cord which has a limited length. It has a feature which can take pics when a person pass through the remote and unit which can make for creative shots.

The only problem I have, is that my fingers are stubby, and I sometimes have a problem with making sure the mount is tight enough.

Easy to use, compact and well designed. Saves me from standing with the cable release...I can lounge 15 feet away and wait for my hummingbird friend without spooking him! Highly recommended.

Used the product outdoors to capture humming birds. The angle of reception and range was better than stated in the brochure. I have no negative at this time.
