Velbon's EL Carmagne series responds to the demands for a lightweight durable tripod, offering superior strength and specifications while being one third lighter than their conventional aluminum counterparts. Carbon fiber is also more resilient to temperature changes.
These durable and versatile tripods have 3-positions of leg spread for normal, semi-low and full-low angle shooting, and the split rapid center column detaches appropriately to access the full range of height.
Included are also an accessory hook and a "stone bag" (tripod apron), which can be used to add stability to the tripod.

Comments about Velbon EL Carmagne 530A Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (Black) - Supports 8.8 lbs (4 kg):
Zero complaints after two years of hard use. I've put this tripod to the test with hours of use around lakes, in rivers on rocks and dirt. It has never failed me, and always impresses me with it's easy setup and stability.
I'm using it with a Markins Q3, and my heaviest load is a Nikon D300, 70-200mm and teleconverter. This is pushing the limits, but it works.
I'm posting this simply because I forgot to put a review, and I'm looking to get a larger Velbon for a Nikon 200-400mm VR and D700 combination.
Can't say enough good things about this tripod! It is well made.
There are signs of use on some of the black anodizing, but it is minor and to be expected. Other than that, it functions as new, and I imagine I'll be using it for years to come.
It was great when I need to travel light and small through Spain.
I also love the lever lock legs.
Good stuff!

I own an older Velbon tripod and head and have been very pleased with it over the years. However, I wanted to update the studio and add an additonal tripod to maximize multiple cameras.
The Velbon 530A tripod is not only functional but very attractive as well. The price is right too. When going on a mobile job, this is the tripod of choice because it is so light weight and extremely sturdy.
It comes packaged with an accessory hook, apron, and case with shoulder strap. It has everything for most applications. Perhaps the only feature it could have (as does my older tripod) is dual spiked/rubber tipped feet.
