About The Author: Richard Weisgrau began his career in photography in 1964. He was a member of ASMP from 1973 to 1987, when he became its executive director, until late 2002. Today he is photographing, writing and consulting. Weisgrau has lectured and written extensively on the topics of copyright, negotiating, business practices and technology.

He authored half of the current ASMP Business Practices in Professional Photography book. His first solo book, The Real Business of Photography, was published by Allworth Press in last June. Weisgrau's second book, The Photographer's Guide to Negotiating, will be published in 2005.
