    This is a Bowens Esprit Gemini 500 watt/second AC/DC monolight. It is available as this item on its own, or in a complete 2 light kit. The Gemini operates with 110-120 Volt AC or its own optional Travel Pak Battery Booster System, available separately.

    This monolight can power down to 1/32 power, which makes it very suitable for use with digital cameras, and for augmenting sunlight outdoors.

    It provides a very wide light spread of 120° from the point of source. This reflector is ideal for use with an umbrella mounted to the flash head. When the reflector is used by itself, the light output has hard shadows, and high contrast.

    Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any tungsten or flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining. A white umbrella without a black backing may also be used as a makeshift softbox, although the use of the light will not be as efficient as with a lightbox.

    Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.

    • Triple-use umbrella is translucent white, with removeable silver backing.
    • Use the translucent white as a sunlight diffuser, or with a strobe as a makeshift softbox.
    • Use the silver backing to add a slight specular highlight when bouncing the light output of a strobe, or small tungsten-halogen light head.

    This is a Bowens Softbox. It's front diffuser measures 39.5 x 39.5" (100 x 100cm). The Bowens range of soft boxes has been developed to offer photographers the very highest-quality light source at a very modest cost. Their silver interior and shallow construction offer a high degree of efficiency while a translucent diffuser ensures even light distribution.

    For a completely even spread of light an internal diffuser has been included to minimise the possibility of hotspots. To ensure easy transportation of your softbox a simple zip up carry case is included as well as a speedring and an 'S' type adaptor for immediate mounting to your Bowens monolight.

    Also included is a spare rod. Each softbox will accept all Wafer adapters and can be used with most popular flash systems.

    The adapter ring has a unique design that tilts out as the box is assembled. When the fourth wand is inserted into the adapter ring, the whole adapter swings into the assembly and locks into place -- no more struggling with a difficult fourth wand.
