Comments about VariZoom SC2112D NiMH Battery:
I use it for my PSC audio mixer. The VariZoom NiMH charges fast, lasts all day long and longer. It has a LED to show the power level .......confidence. And probably best of all, I can charge it on my old NiCad battery charger! I'm very impressed with this battery, I don't have to worry about powering my mixer when I'm on a long day video shoot......That's A GREAT FEELING1

Comments about VariZoom SC2112D NiMH Battery:
Our video production company uses these batteries on our Panasonic 370 cameras, and they work great! They are light and compact, and much more cost effective than the more popular larger batteries. Our batteries last more than two hours per charge and we get from 3 to 5 years of life span using them daily. We are very happy with these batteries!

Comments about VariZoom SC2112D NiMH Battery:
These batteries are superb. I have always used Ni-Cd battery packs in the past, but that's exactly where they now belong - in the past. The life of these Varizooms is incredible, with never ending power for my pro video camera (Sony DSR-250). A great battery well worth the money.

Comments about VariZoom SC2112D NiMH Battery:
As chief photographer for a small-market broadcast station, I've used this battery for daily ENG for over two years; it's used solely for powering a Frezzi Dimmer Micro Fill. The battery is velcroed to a BEC bracket custom-built for my Sony PD170. (The camera itself is powered by Sony 7.2v "InfoLithium" batteries.)
This battery is rated at 13.2 volts and 50 watt-hours. In theory, that means it should power my 35-watt Micro Fill for well over an hour at full charge and intensity. In practice, it would last about an hour when the battery was new....after 200-300 charge cycles, it's down to about 45 minutes tops...which is actually not too bad for a "cheap" battery with this much use. I carry the NiCd Frezzi-brand battery that came with the light as a backup, though it only lasts 20-30 minutes...maybe.
Overall, I'm pleased with the performance. A decade ago, we were using huge, 5-pound Anton/Bauer "bricks" to power 25-pound Betacams. In addition to the weight, those NiCd batteries cost hundreds of dollars each, while providing similar power output to these modern Varizooms.
The battery has a built-in four-LED charge indicator, which seems to be standard on most NP-1s today. It's not 100% accurate, but it does provide you with a general idea of how much life is left; you quickly get used to it.
Again, I'd recommend this battery as an alternative the overpriced "brand-name" NP-1 models. I was apprehensive about buying a "generic" brand, but it's performed flawlessly while powering a high-drain on-camera light.
It's nearing the end of its effective life, and I hope to replace it with a Li-Ion unit.
Actually, my only real complaint is the color of the battery case itself. It's VERY blue....since it's not enclosed, and mounted on the side of my camcorder, it really stands out; a black case would look much more professional.
