This product worked just as I expected. Adapting my 58mm lenses to my Canon camera was no issue. It is plastic, so use caution. Never force the threads, back off and try again. I had no problems and swapped many lenses over my vacation.

great tight fit. i have a 3rd party adapter that wiggles all over the place. The canon adapter and hood fit perfect.

I gen really use it always as i also use a UV filter and this hood acts as some sort of a physical protection for that. The only problem is I get shadows on the corners of my frame when I take my pictures at the lowest focal length. Camera S3 IS

This item corrects an oversight and annoying problem of the Canon S5-IS. The oversight is the inability to mount a filter or lens hood to the lens body. But this issue is the result of the design where the lens projects outward when the camera is turned on to picture mode. Also, because of this action, the lens cap is mounted such that it comes off easily preventing damage if the camera is turned on before the cap is taken off. But this results in the lens cap falling off inadvertently. The LAH-DC20 Lens Adapter/Hood Set by Canon corrects this.

Before I had a chance to check this out, I had some reservations that with a wide angle setting, the LAH-DC20 Lens Adapter/Hood Set might cause some black edges at the corners of the frame but this doesn't seem to be the case. Perhaps one con is that it does extend the lens barrel, reducing the compactness of the camera but then again, you can't have it both ways.

Short story: highly recommended!

The hood is handy for glare but vignetting is annoying. I needed the adapter to use the S2 IS with a flexible underwater housing.

I fixed the original lens cap problem with clear nail polish. Apply several layers to the removable ring.

I use the LAH-DC20 to mount a uv haze filter to protect the lens and do away with the crummy lens cap that comes with the camera. Plus I can utilise the 58mm filters used with my other Canon cameras. Get this, you will be glad you did !

My Canon PowerShot S5 IS is such a great camera but the lens cap was a joke. It always fell off! Having this lens adapter allowed me to not only add a UV filter for protecting that great S5 lens but adding a REAL lens cap to the camera setup. Having this adapter gives some meat to this camera to hold it with my big hands and allowing for filters to be added with ease. It also makes the camera look better if that is inportant. This package comes with a lens hood to boot which does give a nasty vignetting effect on the wide angle shot so zoom a little now or crop a little later. A realy nice addition to a wonderful camera.

A very useful product if you plan to purchase additional lenses of filters for Canon S2IS-S5IS. It is required to mount on the above, however these lenses and filters are screw mounts. I have found it easier to have one for each lens to mount and dismount from camera body. It will cost more to do this, but will avoid possible cross threading. The adapter itself matches points on camera body with simple click on and off.

It works very well on my Canon S5IS. I really like the idea that the lens is now protected with the lens adapter and UV filter that attaches to it. The only drawback is the camera is no longer as compact as it was, but the the protection is well worth the increase in size.

Very good so far! the product does what it`s intended for. So far i`m using it along with the tele-converter (TC-DC58B). It gives the advantage of using 58mm filters (though I haven`t used one yet) and solves the problem of the cover of Canon S5 IS that it`s constant falling.

Only Pro's for it! Buy one!
