Esta lente Sigma APO 300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSMé uma lente telefoto Apocromática ultracompacta com uma abertura máxima f/2.8 rápida e incorpora dois elementos de vidro de Dispersão Extraordinariamente Baixa para reduzir ao mínimo a aberração cromática. Ela incorpora focagem interna que permite uma velocidade de autofoco rápida e responsiva. Também estão incluídos um soquete de tripé destacável e um suporte de filtro de encaixe giratório.
O design de lente DG aprimorado corrige diversas aberrações. Esta lente é especialmente revestida para a obtenção do melhor balanço de cor, reduzindo os fantasmas causados por reflexos do sensor de imagem digital. A lente oferece a mais moderna correção de aberração cromática lateral, que é um sério problema para câmeras digitais SLR.

I was skeptical about getting this lens but I decided to bite the bullet and see how it performed. To say I was blown away by the results would be an understatement. Image quality has been on par with both the Canon and Nikon equivalents. The copy I have has no issues with back focusing and is tack sharp wide open. The lens itself is a little heavy but it's easily hand holdable.
Drawbacks are I have found that the lens hood sometimes falls off even though I screwed it on tight.
Im very impressed with the quality of the lens I received.

Strong construction; very durable and sleek. Great clarity and focus. Only con is its heavy weight, so I would not recommend this lens to someone who isn't using it on a tripod. My main purpose for using this lens is for surf photography so I will always be using a tripod which negates the weight factor. Great lens for the price compared to Nikon and Canon super telephoto lenses.

I used for Action/Sports Photography. Lense often focuses on the person behind the runner, back focus. Not as sharp as my old Nikon 300 2:8. Many told me not to buy, but being the hard head I am, I did. What a mistake. I would say, save your money and get the real thing, Nikon or Canon.

I use this lens mainly for photographing wildlife, mainly birds so far. I could not afford the Nikon VR lens which is almost twice as much. I often use it with the Sigma 2X TC which is about $200 cheaper than the New Nikon 2X TC. Cheaper is one thing but I am getting some very good images and feel that I am limited more by the mediocre AF on my D90 than lack of image stabilization. I have not used it in low light but suspect I will. Autofocus is fast when the camera locks on. I wish it was a bit lighter and it had OS but it is more than satisfactory till I can get 500mm f4 VR.

I just made the switch to Nikon from Canon so I had to purchase a telephoto. After much research I went for a Sigma 300mm because of the solid reviews the lens has received online.
To a happy camper it was all that and then some after I received it and used it.
Sharp, quick and built great. I would recommend this lens to anyone.
