For some reason I had my doubts with this piece of equip. It just seemed too cheap to work well enough. I was wrong. I'm using this to mought a Zoom H4n on my Canon 7D hot shoe. This is the perfect accessory for the job, and it works great. No one would honestly need anything more intense than this one. I only give it 4 stars because its not the best of the best, I'm sure some are made better, but I don't think it would be worth the extra money. It is not super amazingly stable, it would probably wobble a TINY bit with a good shake, but I can also tighten it down more securely if I really want to, but Its nothing that would ever be a problem. Overall it is a pretty solid piece, and will definitely get the job done without any problems that would set you back.

Very Versatile little shoe mount.
It is small, it articulates and the shoe unscrews so you can use it as a screw mount also. What more do you want.

It is small, it articulates and the shoe unscrews so you can use it as a screw mount also. What more do you want.
I'm constantly adjusting things on my camera. It would seem that constantly adjusting this thing causes the shoe mount to become loose. I had gear take a dive twice last shoot I was on. Eventually tightened it down with my leather man and it stayed, but I also had to rely on the foot as a screw mount adapter by taking off the top of this mount instead of removing the whole unit.
I've used more expensive mounts with more problems, and most of it's problem was me messing with it all the time, so I'm still giving it 3 stars.

Very sturdy and compact. Couldn't ask for anything more -- I used it to mount a Zoom H4N to my Canon 5D Mark II.

Comments about Tote Vision HS-1 Hot Shoe Mount:
This mount does what it is supposed to. It fits in the hot shoe of my Canon XH-A1s, it holds a 7" LDC monitor in place without slipping. I have only used it twice so far, both for tripod mounted projects. It seems sturdy enough for more mobile shoots -- but I haven't used it for any yet. Overall, a solid mount for my monitor.

I use this to hold the monitor on top of my camera! This one is pretty solidly built and has a pretty decent hold. I usually don't like the wingnut knobs but this one has worked well so far.

If you're the only crew member and doing dual system audio on a DSLR, this is kind of a must and the best unit around. It fits my GH1 hot shoe perfectly, adjusts snugly and the screw mounts snugly into the base of my Zoom H4n. The gimbal is absolutely necessary to move the recorder away from the camera eye piece. Units without a lockable gimbal really won't be functional at all. It's all metal and professionally made. Still and all , I'd rather have a sound man to help me out.

This was the perfect buy for my Zoom H4N because it's 100% flexible in terms of what position I need it in. This will last me a long long time.

Comments about Tote Vision HS-1 Hot Shoe Mount:
It works well. The bottom clamp doesn't get quite as tight as I might want, but it gets the job done. I'm using it to connect an H4N to a 7D and it only allows a small amount of body noise to travel through.

Purchased to mount NanoFlash on the upcoming AF100. Haven't used on that camera, but on my EX3 it's rock solid and you can't beat the price!

Comments about Tote Vision HS-1 Hot Shoe Mount:
I picked up a Zoom H4n handy recorder, and needed a way to mount it on my Canon T2i. I ended up choosing this hot shoe mount, based on reviews of it's built quality, and the reasonable price (ten bucks cheaper than most other comparable options).
The built quality is quite good; the mount feels like it could take some punishment and still work. It was easy to attach to my camera's hot shoe and the recorder firmly, and is easy to disassemble.
The only issue I could think of would be that it seems a bit tall, but that's barely worth noting.

This is well built and awesome for my Zoom H1 audio recorder. It's meant for heavier lcd monitors so it's not even being used to it's full potential yet. It does feel as though an LCD monitor would not be an issue for this hot shoe mount.

I found similar products priced slightly lower, but their reviews were mixed, so I went for this one, and so far it has be perfect for mounting my Zoom H4N audio recorder to the top of my Canon DSLR. I am happy to say that it is of solid construction and stays firm in place. I highly doubt it will fall apart anytime soon like some of the other cheaper and plastic built ones.

Fits quite nicely on top of my 5d MkII and the Zoom H4N attaches perfectly. Because it's a regular screw size I can envision hooking other things to the top of the camera now as well.
