Norman 810800 Snoot for Norman 5" Reflectors
This 810800 snoot is specifically design for use on all Norman 5 diameter reflectors. For totally accurate previewing it is suggested that a modeling lamp and RP-1 Diffusion Dome be used with the snoot.
Snoots, Barndoors, Grids, and Filters are essential accessories for any lighting system. These devices alter the shape, intensity, or color of the light output from your flash heads. Consider them as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.
Use of a snoot will result in a small circle of light, when it is attached to the front of your light source. The size of the circle of light will be determined by the opening of the snoot, its length, and the distance of the subject.

Comments about 810800 Snoot for Norman 5" Reflectors:
I bought this hoping to attach it to an Impact 5" reflector. However, the Impact 5" reflector is more like 6" and therefore the Norman snoot was too small. I was going to return it, but it is a nice metal snoot which, although expensive, is well made. Therefore since the Impact 5" reflector is not expensive I decided to try to alter it to allow the Norman shoot to fit. It took about 30 minutes of metal work, but I was able to reduce the circumference of the Impact 5" reflector so the Norman snoot would fit. It is not the prettiest of modifications, but it is functional. By the way, I am using a compact fluorescent bulb in the reflector; otherwise the heat would be too great unless holes were cut in the reflector.
