Employing the best optical designs and superior waterproof construction, the Vixen 16x80 Giant is an exceptionally good astronomical binocular. Its display of the sky will dazzle you. All the binoculars in this Giant series are very large units, that require a great tripod. But if you'd like to really see what those faint fuzzies are above you, then you can't do much better than with these true Giants. The 16x80 is an excellent magnification/viewing field compromise, with a broad 68° apparent viewing field.

Comments about Vixen Optics 16x80 Giant Binocular:
I had been looking for an astronomical binocular quite a time, intended to use for comet observation.
This binocular is great for that purpose. In my opinion, the best balance between magnification and exit pupil diameter. Excelent angle of view, easy to defocus and compare with reference stars.
It meets precisely the specifications, specially about beeing fogproof: in a star party that took place in a very humid night, many others got rapidly wet, and this one keep providing an excelent sharp view.
The only thing I would recommend to improve (but not critical) are the rubber eyecups. I have a big nose (like many others). In order to properly approach the eye relief, I have to press them a little more than I would like to. They don´t fit very comfortable for a long observation period.
