Casio SA-75 - 37-Key Portable Keyboard
The Casio SA-75 is a 37-note, lightweight, portable beginner keyboard with mini-sized keys, built-in speakers with stereo amplification, and a headset microphone for hands-free performance and sing-along activity. This keyboard comes with a 100-tone sound library, 30 preset patterns and 10 preset songs for playing or listening enjoyment. The SA-75 can operate via AC power or by 5 standard AA batteries (AC adapter and batteries not included).

These things have come a long way since the Casio keyboards of the 1970's. I mean, honestly, what are you looking for for [$]? This thing has an incredible amount of functionality and some really cool sounds that will keep your child busy for a very long time. And it's fun. I'm not afraid to admit that I have spent some none-too-productive hours exploring the sounds this thing produces. All told, it's a great play piece, which, if not taken too seriously, could end up sparking a childhood interest in music. Great features like the digital metronome and the notes played visually could actually be valid teaching tools once kids are ready to take music seriously. I think it's a great little keyboard and a fantastic value. Keep in mind that this thing can play pre-recorded songs that are annoying. If that is going to drive you insane, perhaps choose another musical gift for your child.

My 11 year daughter plays with this constantly. This is a great learning tool and I am very happy with the quality and price. The sound does not bother me at all as with some of the other reviewers.
