I have been shooting digital since the Canon D30 came out and recently using the latest pro digital gear. I have returned to use film for along with digital after I have invested in a pro quality scanner and software to re-work my older slides. The scans of this film are stunning and preferred by my customers over digital for bright sunny colorful shots. Color rendition detail and contrast is superb with virtually no visible grain
from a 21 Megapixel desktop scan. Drum scans can pull out more details (about 30 Megapixel).
For travel, beach and night photography I prefer to use this film over my pro digital gear.
Velvia 50 still has better greys, but this film is a better choice in 35 mm format for travel use as it is less grainy than Velvia 50 (no peppercorn spots on the scan).
Dynamic range is very good, with a good scanner all the low level and highlight details can be pulled out.
The other good thing about a film is that you have the physical slide not only a digital file and you can re-scan it later if you wish.
I have several external hard disks with raid configuration, but still manage to loose digital files once in awhile. With film I just rescan them, but bad luck if you wipe out your digital files. They are gone forever.
Reliability of the film cameras is still much better than that of the digital ones. I had several incidents during extended hikes or remote travel, when for some reason the digital gear broke down. I have never ever had any problem with my film cameras. As an insurance I shoot all of my critical work on both film and digital and pick the one with a better quality for submissions to my customers.
Cons: Workflow is slower than digital and cost some money.

Having used Fuji Sesia films for years, I am saddened that their only Daylight Slide Film is now Velvia. Not only does this cost more than Sensia the color doesn't look as real. Being a diehard slide shooter I have no alternative and will continue to buy what ever Fuji offers. B&H continues to offer the best prices [...] and I will continue to do business with them for as long as they can provide slide film.

I'm using this film for a college class, and I'm really learning about tonal values, since I can't change any of it in photoshop! It sees the color!

This is simply the best slide film I have ever used. It is so good combined with a quality lens that it makes you feel as if you are there. I don't know how people can say that digital is better after seeing what this film can do.

I use this film for the first time, but in a non-traditional way. Images were taken using a LOMO, which is an old Russian camera. Then I cross processed the film as prints. Great burst of color and true cross processing look.

I use this film for general uses such as landscapes, streetscenes and protraits. This slide looks wonderful and rich under sunlights. This is properly one of the best films in the market now and besides, it is listed as professional film as well and I am really happy with that.

I use this film for an international photo essay project. I shoot in various locations and light, mainly outdoors, and I have only moments to make light setting decisions. *It travels well, unexposed and exposed. [...]*It produces fine colors and shadows, which are noticeable also in digitized images*As I move from country to country my images maintain a consistent look

Comments about Fujifilm RVP 135-36 Fujichrome Velvia 100 Professional Color Slide Film:
Used for on the street portraits as part of an international artist residency. Changing light, quick conditions, absolutely reliable and gave a visceral sense to the images. RVP made me appreciate especially depth of color and detail. Light range was not as narrow as I'd been led to believe, which was a boon. Shot portraits at limit of camera and film on a rainy day and they're gorgeous.

Comments about Fujifilm RVP 135-36 Fujichrome Velvia 100 Professional Color Slide Film:
Fantastic film, high contrast and wonderful colors. Been using it on my travels around Europe, the only problem I've had is it's been tough to use in low light situations during the day when walking through darker alleys and side streets and not going to carry my tripod everywhere. Other than that, it's great.
