Note:*RMS granularity is the standard for measuring film grain: the lower the number, the smaller the apparent grain. **Read at a gross diffuse visual density of 1.0, with a 48-micrometer aperture.

Comments about Fujifilm RVP 4 x 5" Fujichrome Velvia 100 Professional Color Slide (Transparency) Film (ISO-100) - 50 Sheets:
Responds well to being rated at 80iso, and is better suited to long exposures (1 min or more) than Velvia 50 because of more forgiving reciprocity characteristics and less colour shift. It does sometimes have a magenta shift, and tends to amplify reds and other warm colours a little more than ideal.

The best film on the market for landscape photographers. Matched only by 50 ISO velvia.

Comments about Fujifilm RVP 4 x 5" Fujichrome Velvia 100 Professional Color Slide (Transparency) Film (ISO-100) - 50 Sheets:
I've used this film to shoot urban landscapes and recently character portraits as well. Since I love that magic hour light I tend to aim to use it around dusk which is fine as long as the subject matter is not about people. The 100 speed ISO provides a really fine image but if your photographing people past late afternoon you will need more than just available light.
It is a challenging film to use because the latitude of the film is around 1 and 1/3 stops. When bracketing I choose to go only one stop over and under. The notch code is real similar to Kodak ISO 160 C-41, which is another film I like to use so it's important to be real careful labeling the holders.

Large format is not dead! And that's probably thanks to velvia and the good scanners that are available today. The dynamic range in velvia slide film makes life easy even when the conditions for landscape photography are not ideal...
