These are the Verbatim discs with which we are familiar. The package has a dark color label and clearly shows the AZO identification. The color depends on whether the discs are +R or -R. The discs are made by Mitsubishi, not CMC like the "Life Series" discs white label. Avoid the "Life Series" discs in favor of the Verbatim AZO discs.
I have used the normal Verbatim discs for several years and very rarely experienced any issues like "coasters". Various forums indicate disappointment with Verbatim for having the "Life Series" discs packaged with the company's name.

I had a few bad disks, meaning that the disk did not record all that was written to it. I have not had this problem with other brands so I concluded that it was a disk issue and not a computer issue. I would not depend on them for projects that have any importance.

I've used Maxell, Sony, Fujifilm, JVC and TDK DVDs in the past and none of them have been as reliable as the Verbatim (Sony is probably the next best IMO).
As for the Verbatim DVDs I've gone through nearly 1,000 without a single one being bad. About a month ago, I purchased another 400 from B&H because they had the best price (even though I had to pay shipping) and they have never failed to deliver.
I have not done an actual speed test, but my computer burns at 16x and everything from 1GB files to 4.7GB files seem to burn relatively fast.
5 stars for these Verbatim DVDs and 5 stars for B&H!

I use these to duplicate single and multiple copy screeners, demos, transfers, finished client projects. VERY few bad discs on the spindle, in fact I think the last spindle I ordered didn't have a single bad disk. As always, you can't beat the b&h price.

I make DVDs of Sports Games (mainly) and other misc. recorded media and for the price it was worth it. I have no problems at all with this product. I would recomened it to any one who needs DVD-Rs for back up of pictures, music or anything else or to simply make DVD movies.
