I've been using this lens for a few weeks now, and and it's been a great replacement for my old 70-300mm. I always felt that the old lens left all of my images flat and soft at almost all focal lengths. This one isn't perfect, but it's a definite improvement. Quality seems to suffer at the longer end, but it's less severe.
The wide focal length of this lens is wonderful. I can leave the lens on 90% of the time, only changing if i want to get ultra wide with my 10-24mm Tamron.
This Sigma is fast enough for most shooting, but also closes down to f/40 at 300mm. The zoom ring is solid but smooth. There is a little bit of zoom creep, but it's minimal. Sigma also provided a zoom lock switch to prevent creeping when the lens is not in use.
Overall, this is a good all-purpose lens. The low price and great zoom range makes it perfect for any photographer on a budget.

I took lots of photos of all kinds, broadly acceptable. If we compare the images against a Nikkor 18-55 or 55-200, the Nikkor has better sharpness but nothing you can object. The lock button broke down very rapidly (1 year), and made the zoom movement was slow and heavy. finally after 3 years, broke the zoom system. I am very careful with my camera, never had a fall or blow.

I was looking for an all around lens to take on my hunting trips to take closeup photos of the animals. This lens did the trick. All around perfect lens for the bucks you spend on it. Very sharp and clear. No problems with autofocus either.
Yes I would buy this lens again.

Used this to take a lot of photos at Central Park and they are just great! Needed to get used to focus manually, but it really worths the price. Good for general use, since the motive can be near or very far away. Great zoom. The macro works very well too.

Comments about Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro Autofocus Lens:
I have a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 which I use with a 2x and a Nikon 18-200VR lens. The 18-200 was just a little short for many shots of birds etc.
The Sigma 28-300 furnishes this extra range without the weight of my f2.8 Sigma. I had the older model Sigma 28-300 which I sold to a friend. This new lens is great for me so far and is delivering great shots.

Comments about Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro Autofocus Lens:
This lens, which is designed for full frame digital cameras, delivers precisely what is advertised. It is accurate, and well designed. One should note that on reduced frame digital cameras, it has a range which is longer, and as such is not comparable to lenses which are specific to reduced frame devices.
The output is consistent, and the lens quality is excellent. Highly recommended.

Bought this lens 4 years ago when I bought my D50. Was a great lens to learn off of and great focal length to cover any amateur and even slight pro photography needed. Have noticed over the past 2 years that the glass has started to haze. And now the blurryness is getting more prominent.
But for the time I've had the lens, it has been a terrific product to use

While a bundled lens is good, this is better ... Covering 28 300 mm range this lens can do a lot more than most stock lenses. This lens also performs better as a Macro because it has a 1:3 magnification. All i n all it's a very handy all around primary lens.

I use this product to take pictures of my daughter's university softball games and share the photos. Plus, now I do not have to change lenses to take wider photos since this lens is a 28-300mm! Have to say Ceaser was very helpful in helping me choose this product!

Amateur photographer. I use it with a D200. I use it mostly in the rain forest. I appreciate that despite It doesn't have the best macro, tele or wide angle, it has them all in one, avoiding changing lens constantly. Slightly slower focusing than a similar Nikon .
