The GZ-MG30 is a member of JVC's revolutionary Everio line of digital camcorders. Instead of tape or DVD, Everio records to a built-in 30GB hard drive. From there, you can transfer your video to a PC via USB 2.0 cable, or transfer it to tape or DVD.

You can record up to 37.5 hours of video in Economy mode, or about 7 hours of DVD-quality MPEG-2. You can also record stills and video to SD cards. 16:9 Squeeze mode lets you shoot video that fits wide-screen TVs. 3D noise reduction and digital image stabilization give you great pictures in almost any condition. A 25x optical zoom gets you up close and personal, and an 800x digital zoom brings you closer than ever to the action. Editing and DVD authoring software is included for both PC and Mac owners.

• Hard Disk Recording: Everio records up to 37.5 hours of video on its built-in 30GB hard disk. At highest quality, you can record about 7 hours of DVD-quality video.

• SD Card Slot: Record video or still photos on a compact SD card.

• MPEG-2 Video Clips: Record quick clips of video in full-quality MPEG-2.

• Dolby Digital Audio: Record in 2.1-channel Dolby Digital sound for added realism.

• 25x Optical Zoom/800x Digital Zoom: Shorten the distance between you and those long shots. The 25x optical zoom gives you loss-free image quality, and the 800x digital zoom brings the action closer than ever.

• 3D Noise Reduction: 3D noise reduction is frame-based. It analyzes the entire picture at once to improve the signal-to-noise ratio by 2dB. It dramatically improves noise in low-light conditions.

• 16:9 Squeeze Mode: Give your videos a cinematic look by recording in the 16:9 aspect ratio that matches the shape of movie screens and wide-screen HDTVs.

• User Friendly GUI: The Graphical User Interface makes it easy to access menu functions and helps you find favorite scenes.

• INFO Button: Press the INFO button on the camcorder to see information like remaining battery life or hard disk space.

• Auto Illumination Light: Two white LEDs give you the light you need to light your subjects in dark scenes. LEDs use less energy than light bulbs, and turn off automatically in brighter conditions.

• 2.5" Clear LCD Monitor: The LCD monitor reduces glare and reflection when used outdoors.

• Power-Linked Operation: The camcorder turns on when you flip out the LCD monitor, and turns it off when you close it to save battery life.

• Remote Control: An infrared wireless remote lets you play back video the way you would on a DVD player.

• USB 2.0 Interface: USB 2.0 enables quick, loss-free digital transfer of video directly from the camcorder to your PC.

• Still Printing With PictBridge and DPOF Support: Print your still pictures without using a computer thanks to PictBridge. Just connect the camcorder to your printer's USB cable for photo-quality prints. DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) gives you control over the printing process and makes it easy to order prints on-line.

• Software Bundle: For Windows users, JVC includes CyberLink DVD Solution: a suite of programs designed for easy editing, DVD authoring and playback. For Mac users, PIXELA Capty MPEG Edit EX lets you do frame accurate cuts-only editing.
